I contacted the seller and let them know what happend and they offered to send a free replacement so i will wait to receive the rod and retest it and update the review after Got these poles for a easy travel fishing rod and from the description and reviews thought yea should be a good pole right WRONG first use caught a small 7 inch sheep's head pole snaped right in the middle so okay Kool took the broken piece stuck it back in and could still fish then boom caught a decent sized fish (can't tell you want it was because of the rest of the story) then boom snaps into another 3 pieces yay so had to go and find a replacement pole for the rest of the trip useless and a waste of money

This is my go to rod for snook fishing off the beach. I’ve reeled in a 30 inch snook with no problem at all. I paired the 8' rod with a Penn Slammer III 3500 with 20lb braid and 25lb flurocarbine leader. This setup was perfect. The rod casts great, has lots of backbone and a sensitive tip. I even hooked into a 70lb stingray while fishing for mangrove snappers and while the ray spooled my reel and broke the line in less than 3 mins the rod held it's own like a champ. If you are going to the beach and want an affordable travel rod that performs great, buy the 8' 4 piece, you'll love it! I will also mention that I've corresponded with the guys at Goture a few times and they are great. Plus I've had rods that cost 3 times as much snap like twigs. I'll happily recommend these rods to anyone who travels and wants a reliable rod for their trip. - Happy Customer!

I own the ~7' 5 piece version which has been great so far for several fishing trips. I then bought the larger 8' MH size for an Alaska trip and tested it out beforehand looking for problems. During my trip, the final rod section containing tip started splintering, and I knew it wouldn't be long until it broke. After a few more salmon it broke completely. All the action seems to be in the tip, so the remaining rod sections were very stiff and didn't work well for fishing in a pinch. I was stuck carrying a broken rod for a good part of my trip. I could be unlucky but this heavier action rod may need redesigning so the tip isn't the only flexible section. The company sent me a full replacement promptly when I got home, but this didn't help while actually fishing on an expensive and seldom-made trip. I give customer service 5 stars, but I would recommend they include a spare tip section with each rod, as some other companies already do. That could make this a 5 star product in my opinion. At least it would give some peace of mind while traveling.

Now I have yet to use. Bought for inshore snook/redfish/etc in FL… 8’ medium heavy. First off, beautiful rod. Stunning. High quality (looks better than my cabelas fish eagle travel rod). But a little disappointed in tip. It’s more of a medium light. I wanted a stiffer tip. Great backbone though… first two pieces are perfect, last two pieces are thin. Will be great for Midwest freshwater fishing. But I had to post a msg for those looking for a MH rod, this prob isn’t it. Not sure if u can throw a big lure or bait and will have to keep rod tip little lower horsing in a big one. Still glad I got it and if you haven’t watched the Japanese video on here, it is a trip… “I don’t hate it”. Haha. Probably bought it because of the video and made the whole family laugh. But in it, you can tell it’s a slow tip, just thought that was for the longer surf rod. Will give update after trip.
