Great customer service
I used it at multiple lakes in my kayak. I'm yet to see it detect anything even depth. I'll do some research to see if there's an easy fix. Will update review if I can.It turned out something was wrong with the transponder. I reached out to the company and they sent a new one right away. The new one works great.

Epic fail on first test run even after following all troubleshooting options
** First attempt at use. Test run before big vacationI was so excited to try this. The price is excellent and if it did what it claimed it would be a perfect tool for fishing. Sadly, it was a fail.I read all the directions (limited as they were). I followed them to a tee including1. using brand new batteries2. confirming distance from float to sensor3. using it in clear waters ( I mean as clear as a creek, stream or river can be.4. made sure the sensor was at the proper angle.5. made sure I was in water that was between 3 and 300 ft depth.etc.I turned it on and the screen showed the icons at the top and then basically a blank screen. Maybe no fish, but also no ground covering? No movement on the screen at all? I played with the sensitivity to try and get anything. Nothing. I turned on the simulation and the screen went alive.. but a simulation is worthless to me on the water. I tried everything! The funny part was as I am yelling that I see nothing on the screen, my wife catches a fish right beside me.The old saying, you get what you pay for is very true in this case. Going cheaper is not always the right answer.I contacted Amazon and they put me in touch with the manufacturer. Sadly, it is going to take at least two days for them to contact me back and by then I will only have a few days to fix this before my trip. So we will see how their customer support functions and if they are willing to fix this situation for me in some way.I will update this as things progress.

Lasted 3 uses
Inexpensive simple unit. Broke on 3rd day of use.Good for depth but does not show bottom type, temperature, contours or any other helpful information.Cannot reccommend. Get one with contours and temperature so you can see changes to bottom not just depth.
