I was so pleased to receive this book! It was impeccably packaged with care and received in good order. The bonus was that it was signed by the author!I look forward to reading the rich stories and making the blocks to humbly re-create the artistry of the finished quilt. THANK YOU!!!

This book is full of letters from the children that received ponies from the Publishing company in the early 1900's. The book also contains quilt square patterns companions for each letter. Have not tried the included CD of patterns and instructions, but the diagrams in the second part of the book are very well illustrated.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS BOOK! There are only limited instructions in the book but when you put the CD in a computer the instructions are right there after each pattern! This is my first quilting book and have started hand quilting and I LOVE IT! I printed the patterns, cut out two of each. one with the 1/4 inch seam and the other the smaller one. I just traced it out and YES it is time consuming but I'm fine with it. I love her colorful illustrations in the book (makes it WAY better to see the patterns).

This is a fantastic book printed on superb quality paper and worth every penny. It is worth buying for the letters and photographs of the children and their ponies alone. The block patterns are very clear and I am looking forward to making a quilt from the blocks. If you have children I'm sure they would enjoy reading the often very amusing and touching stories behind the blocks, too. A superb book in every way.

I am not a quilter, but thought this sounded like it would be a fun book to read, and I was right. The stories about the kids and their ponies are too cute, and give you a nice little insight to the time period as well. I might have to take up quilting too just so I can try out the patterns. ;)

I like this book and the blocks that are in it. There are stories to go along with the blocks. I really love the cd that comes with it. Each block template can be printed off. Most are on one page. There are also paper piecing, line diagrams and rotary cutting for the blocks.

I bought this book because my great-uncle was one of the winners and the book was discovered in doing family history work. although my uncle has a poem about him in the book- there is not a picture. We have many great pictures of the pony and the kids- so I have added them to the book. As a quilter I found the book intriguing as well as I just started to do paper piecing- so I think I will have fun with it.

My daughter had purchased another book by this author and loved the stories in it. I bought this for my daughter for Mother's Day because the stories where from children. I thought it was a very sweet book. My daughter quilits and felt that the patterns in this book were very doable. It is also a nice addition that a CD is included with templates.Arrived quickly and in perfect condition.
