The 3kg graphite crucible holds 3.4 pounds of bronze. I did needed a second pair of tongs for pouring safe and steady. Took about 1 1/2 hrs to heat up with adding scrap as I went. A "bross" mix. You might want to remove the label on the SS shell as it will weld on permanently at first heatNice quality and value for the money. I did have to refit to cap so it sealed better after expanding during melt cycle.. Otherwise, so simple/predictable compared to gas fired. Years ago I used a #90 aluminum crucible on gas and that was intense for a garage foundry. This item is so cute and with thermostatic control. Also the PetroBond is bullet proof.

I purchased this and used it right away! I melted silver and copper. Unfortunately during one use (5th use), the inner furnace burned a hole.I reached out to the seller for the warranty replacement and they informed me the item was no longer available and they would reach out to the warehouse to have one made for a replacement. It took a while but they held true on their promise and kept me updated during the wait. I appreciate a seller who keeps their promise and warranty! They responded quickly each time to my questions and they were kind.I highly recommend this seller. As for the product, it is in use again.

Everything was great except the crucible only lasted for a CPL smelts and the edge disingraded and have to replace it because you can not pick it out of the smelter...hopefully new cruiciable is better quality

I wanted to wait a while after I bought this before I did my review to see how the product actually worked and so far I have had no problem with it whatsoever heats up fast belts my illumin fast I have not tried copper or brass but I'm sure I won't have any problem I'm going to try to make some brass aluminum and copper together we'll see how that works but as I can tell from now I don't think they'll be a problem I would buy this again.

It's compact and easy to use helps refining gold and silver a lot easier than using a torch by any means

I am extremely annoyed ! It cost $300.I used it ONE time. It worked perfect ONE time.NOW it’s MICROPROCESSOR will NOT allow the unit to heat up.I WANT a new unit or a new microprocessor .I now know that the heating element burned out totally in ONE use.I want my $300. Back!!The Company will not stand behind it’s product, making a lame excuse that Amazon will not give them my Email.I don’t want to trouble shoot the Unit, I want my money back.Brian D Lowry

The media could not be loaded.  overall this is a wonderful smelting forge however the very first time I used this to do anything there was a slight popping sound and I noticed the cap's ring fell off and the ceramic liner for the top dropped down like .5 inches. It still works but the cap will not close all the way now. When cold you cannot put back into the cap. However if you heat it slightly while upsidedown it will go back into position and you can then put the ring back one. However, when operating the smelting forge, the cap will separate every time and the lip of the cauldron is just high enough that when the top falls down it catches it and makes it impossible to open. THAT is unless you tap lightly on the lid to push the ceramic back in enough to actually open the lid
