Great option to help baby sleep!
I bought this as a replacement for an old mobile to which we lost the parts after my older child took it apart. I've been extremely impressed with it in the past month. I've turned it on (with the lights) at least once or twice every night, and the batteries are still going strong. The remote is extremely handy; although you need to have line of sight between it and the player. Our baby's crib is still in our bedroom, so that's not a problem. I find it extremely convenient that when she wakes up fussing, I can just turn this on without leaving bed, and wait a few minutes to see if she'll go back to sleep, or if she needs to be fed. Sometimes, I get to enjoy listening to her giggle at it! The volume on the music is also very loud in a good way (it has two settings, but we use the louder one to provide more cover of our own noises). A few drawbacks (and they're minor): There's no easy way to turn it off from the actual mobile. Pressing the button again just resets the timer. The remote does have this option, though. It's only been an issue when I've laid her down and she makes it clear she's not ready for bed, then I have to turn the switch off and back on. The mobile goes into a sleep mode (I'm not sure of the timeframe) and the remote won't work. If I don't plan on turning it on when I put the baby to sleep, I still manually turn it on real quick while I'm getting her changed and use the remote to turn it off again, otherwise I won't be able to use the remote in the middle of the night. The mobile itself is very tall, so just check the clearance for where you plan to install it. We didn't have any problems, but it's probably a good 1.5' above the crib, and the install system doesn't let you move it any lower. It's beneficial to us, because it makes it easier to slide the baby underneath it without a problem. I haven't used it yet without the mobile, but the picture display is very bright on the mobile itself, so I'm pretty confident it will work well on the ceiling above the baby as well. I bought this as an early Christmas present for the baby, but it's really been more of a Christmas present to myself!

Best Mobile
I love this mobile!. The music lasts 20 minutes and then you have a handy remote to start it up again if you want it to go longer without having to go in and disturb the baby. My baby got boared really easy so we tried this one because it has a light show and she loves lights. It was a hit! I also like that in addition to the music options there is a heartbeat option which really helps my baby go to sleep. So for play I put it on the music and then for bedtime I put it on the heartbeat. Its also great that there is the option to have just the sound on and hte mobile and lights off which is great for bedtime. What I didnt like is the characters dont hang down very far to keep the babies interest. We ended up swapping them out with the characters from the old mobile that we didnt like that had longer strings. The nice thing is the way this mobile holds them in you could pretty much use characters from any mobile. The other problem we had is the plastic part that is the adjustor to make it tight to the crib broke and I was annoyed to find out that it isnt a replacement part. When I called fisherprice about it they sent me a return label to return it to them for full refund no receipt or box needed! So we got a brand new one. Fisherprice customer service was great to deal with. They didnt give me any hassle at all.

Super product!!
This mobile has been a life saver for my little guy. He has hated sleeping in his crib since day 1. Initially I followed the philosophy that a crib is for sleeping and should not have toys. However, since he wasn't "sleeping" there anyways, I had to do SOMETHING! I researched every mobile out there and a lot of the projector mobiles had bad reviews. This one had like 800 good reviews! At first my baby (4 1/2 months at the time) didn't seem to pay much attention to the entire thing. I would lay him down and he would roll right to his stomach. I thought - this was a waste of money - he can't see it on his stomach! After a few times now he is mesmerized by the music and light show. Sometimes at night when the room is dark I turn on the mobile and we watch it together in the glider to calm down. Other times I lay him in the crib and when his eyes are busy, I slip away. The mobile is brilliant in that it runs a nice long time. As it ends its cycle it doesn't just shut off. First the light projector shuts off while the mobile animals still spin and the music still plays. Then the animals stop spinning. Lastly, the music stops. Maybe all mobiles work like that, but I like it to keep baby lulled. The remote is great if the baby is still awake and I want to turn it back on without him seeing me. The plush animals are adorable. I wish the projected picture was a little cuter but baby doesn't care. It was easy to assemble and disassemble when I need to remove the mobile part to project onto the ceiling. I can see this getting a lot of use. I am very pleased with the quality! Now baby sleeps in his crib!

Probobly the best musical mobile
This is a pretty good mobile with unique features and some minor annoyances. Overall, the build quality is good. The hanging toys are cute, fairly well made and are comparable to the Kaloo wooden mobile that we used as well. The music/sounds are typical of other plastic battery powered toys, which means annoying. The very best thing about this mobile is the remote control, meaning no need to get up to turn it on or off if your child is sleeping in the same room. Another bonus is that the top section can be removed once the child is older, and you are still left with a music box & projector. Speaking of which, the projector is great idea, but I wish that speed on it could be controlled. When operating with new batteries, the image spins quite fast, to the point of being uncomftorable to look at. With regular use, we needed to change batteries every 2-3 months. Attaching and detaching the mobile is easy, but due to the design, might be a challange if the crib's rails are not straight.

Magical, if a bit stimulating...
We got this mobile for our 11-week-old to help him transition from a basinet in our room to a crib in his own room. He was enchanted right from the start -- I've never seen him respond this way to any other toy. He giggles and coos and shouts to the animals. Putting him under the mobile will almost always make him stop crying, and it keeps him entertained for an amazingly long time. (Note that I put animals from a different mobile into the slots -- I don't think it matters much.) It's clearly the combination of the music and visuals that does it. Putting on just the music or putting on the visuals with nature sounds doesn't bring about the same jubilant reaction. The only problem: As you can see in this video, he doesn't exactly look like he's about to fall asleep. In fact, my husband and I were concerned at first that he'd start thinking it was play time whenever we put him down in his crib and would never be able to sleep there. Fortunately, the transition to the crib is going really well, and I think it's largely because the mobile makes him feel at home. When he wakes up at night, he knows where he is. He feels oriented to the crib because of the happy time he's spent there with his animal "friends." When his eyes pop open for a few seconds during the night, I can see him glancing up at the silhouette of the mobile and going right back to sleep. So I'm thrilled with this product and consider it one of our best baby purchases. I should add that nap time is still a challenge, because as soon as it's at all light out and he can fully see the animals, his eyes pop wide open and he starts chattering away to them (even when they aren't moving). Right now, at 10 a.m., he's sleeping in his swing because he woke up in his crib after just 20 minutes and wouldn't go back to sleep. Oh, well -- getting him to nap in the crib will be a whole other challenge. But nighttimes are going beautifully, and considering the sleep we're getting and the total delight he's deriving from this mobile, I think it has improved our lives enough to earn the full five stars.

One of my favorite baby purchases!
I would buy this mobile 100 times over and over if I had to! However, two kids in, it's still in great shape, so I don't need to! I bought this mobile for my 3 year old before she was born. It was easy to install onto the side of her crib...you just clip it to the rail with a buckle and then tie it on so the baby can't tilt it (the tie has been critical, as our kids will pull down on it and it will pull over if we don't have it knotted on). Both of my kids have loved being able to reach up and pull down the little animals. They are designed to pull right off. And they are safe--not a choke hazard. Both kids have had the best time dropping them out of the crib so when we go to get them out of the crib, we pick them up and talk about them as we put them back. The kids love it and it has been our little routine with both of them. We haven't used the remote. I don't even know where it is. But hey--great feature if you want it! We've only use the music part of the sound options. The kids don't really care for anything but the music. When I go to get my youngest daughter from her crib, she loves to turn on the music, like she's hosting a party. It's really cute and awesome. She's so proud of herself for figuring it out! I'd love it if I could easily turn the music off. Instead, I have to slide the button on the side to the off position, and then slide it back to the on position so that it's ready for the next time we get in bed. All in all, this has been one of my absolute favorite baby items and I highly, highly, highly recommend it to anyone.

Worth every penny!
We purchased the Fisher-Price Precious Planet Projection Mobile when my son was 8 weeks old. We've been using the mobile for almost 2 months now and we still absolutely love it! He loves watching the animals go around while he "talks" to them. The music always soothes him to sleep. In fact, he'll cry when the music turns off, but immediately stops when we turn it back on. The songs are annoying to Mom and Dad, in fact, my husband has commented that listening to the music through the baby monitor helps him drift off to sleep as well. The mobile runs for the full 20 minutes which is great. We use the mobile every night, and our batteries just needed changing after two months. Once the batteries wore down, it would only play for a few minutes. It's nice that there are three noise choices: music, rainforest, and heartbeat. We only use the music since our son loves it so much. He didn't seem impressed by the rainforest and he absolutely disliked the heartbeat. I love the fact that you can turn off the projection, so it only plays music or music and the mobile spins. And when the projection is on, it gives off a nice soft glow. Fisher-Price was smart and staggered the time when things shut off. First, the projection shuts off, then a little bit later the mobile stops spinning, and then a little bit after that the music stops. Since it doesn't shut off abruptly, it doesn't wake our sleeping boy. The mobile attaches securely to the side crib rail without any hassle. Our side crib rail has a curve in it, and it still attaches easily and securely. We don't use the remote very much since its just as easy to walk in the nursery and push the button again. The only time we use the remote is to easily turn the mobile off without having to shut off the switch. The stuffed animals are cute and hold my son's attention. They are nice colors and actually look like the animals they are meant to resemble. Overall, I highly recommend the Fisher-Price Precious Planet Projection Mobile. Pros: -Plays music continuously for 20 minutes -Projection is a nice feature, but it can be turned off to allow for just music and/or music/mobile -Attaches easily and securely to the crib rail (we have it attached to a side rail that has a curve in it with no problems) -Doesn't seem to wear down batteries too badly (finally had to change the batteries after two months) -The stuffed animals are cute -The music isn't annoying, but rather soothing The only Con I can think of is the heartbeat sound. It's supposed to sound like the mother's heartbeat to soothe the baby as if they were still in the womb. It's a nice idea, especially for younger infants, but the heartbeat is too slow. It's actually abnormally slow, so it doesn't soothe a baby, at least not my baby.

Once the motor works properly it's a good deal - but the remote is a pain if a tv is nearby
Pros: colorful, nice mobile that my daughter enjoys. She started watching it at about 5-6 weeks of age. I like the music selections. I like that it turns off on its own after 20 minutes and that it does it in stages (lights, mobile, music). Easy to assemble. Quiet operation (if yours makes any noise from the motor then return it and get a new one). Cons: Did not mount easily to our crib - it was too close to the mattress so I put a block of wood on top of the crib bar to raise it up. The first one we got had a very loud motor. I returned it for a completely different mobile. Then I happened to see this one in a store and turned it on and noticed it made no noise. So I returned the other mobile and go another one of this model and it worked perfectly. The biggest complaint we have is regarding the remote. We have a television in the same room as the crib for entertainment for us. If we push any button on the tv remote it turns the mobile on or off. The solution they gave is to not use both things at the same time. That's not helpful when you have a baby who is sleeping and you go to turn off the tv that has been on pause and it turns the mobile on. We now keep the mobile remote next to the tv remote so we can catch what its doing quickly. It would be nice if there was an option to turn the remote function off but there is not. Overall I recommend this mobile as it is good for the price and you can put up with the cons.

RIP OFF
Bought this item after reading online reviews that it is one of the best cot mobiles. However, after assembly of the cot mobile (which was not an easy task) the sound was so muffled and low that it made no impact on my 4 month old twin baby girls. I filed a claim for refund and pronto I got another piece of the same got mobile within a day or two. This is despite the fact that I specifically asked for a refund and return of the product. I once again assembled the product in the hope that may be the first piece was defective but there was only a marginal improvement in terms of the quality of the sound. The motor of the cot mobile is louder than the music. Further the other two sounds options of nature and heartbeat are not audible at all. I have since filed another claim for refund and return and have not heard from either the Amazon team or the seller. This has been a complete rip off and I have been forced to write this review so as to make my complaint be heard at the customer care of Amazon, iBhejo and Fisher Price ... please return my money and take this product back!!!!!

This mobile is wonderful! It was easy to assemble and install
This mobile is wonderful! It was easy to assemble and install. The animals are cute, and actually hang down so the baby can see their faces (unlike so many mobiles that seem to show underbellies and feet...). The music is soft and soothing, and the lights seem to fascinate my 5-month-old. He seems to find the whole show very relaxing...

Trotz Plastikwahn gelungen.

Music, rotating lights and rotating mobile!
This is a must buy for a new baby! Main three functions are: - music: two sound level settings. Three types of music: heart beat (like mums heart beat), nature (either waterfall or tropical rainforest), music (mozart, bach etc) -light show; rotating images of animals on a dome. Dome can be removed and the projector projects on to other surfaces - rotating mobile - includes 4 animals of high quality - crocodile, bear, whale and lion Very good faulty, 5 minutes to set-up. Includes remote as well with a single button which you press and it starts up from where it left off. The mobile has auto-tut off after 20 minutes which is good to save battery. Takes 4 x D side batteries and 2 x AA for the remote. The mobile is a bit expensive and cheaper from abroad but not many places sell this anymore and if you can get your hands on it, I would. And get it from birth - the lights are amazing when the room lights are off!
