Bormioli RoccoCapitol Decanter 23.75 Oz - Engraved Monogram Personalized

This was a horrible purchase spend your money somewhere else. It says it's supposed to be engraved but it's not. It's painted on this was a christmas gift and to be real about it my brothers palms sweat when he drinks. He doesn't drink very often but his birthday just passed so this finally got its first use and those supposed Engraving is smearing off! Definitely displeased and won't be purchasing from this company again.

I didn't read the overview of this decanter before I ordered it and that's my fault. I assumed it was made of crystal and not of glass. I wanted a taller decanter as well. They had everything listed in the overview therefore I can't give it a bad rating for my error. Since it has been engraved its probably non returnable. I rated it a 4 star based on what I thought it would be if I had ordered this one. The weight of the decanter is nice and the stem fits snuggly in place. It holds exactly a 750ML bottle of your favorite beverage. The engraving is nice. I wish the stem could be engraved with your initial as well. The packaging was super and it arrived about a week earlier than scheduled.

Only reason for four stars is there is a slight error in the etching. If you look really close you can see where they started etching the personalization a little lower and to the left of where it should be (see photo #1). It was corrected and the rest of it looks beautiful. You can only see the error at a certain angle. It’s a beautiful piece and matched the decanter we got at the U.S. Capital last year. In photo #2 you can’t see the error at all.

I was very excited to purchase this for my husband as a Christmas gift since we are both whiskey sippers. I like that the glass itself is thick and heavy. Doesn’t feel fragile. But what makes me give it 1 star is that the plug separated for the top. We didn’t use a abnormal amount of strength to open it and the plug is now stuck in the bottle. As my husband watch me use my glue gun to try and make the glass top mold back onto the plug is embarrassing. Also the custom print isn’t as pronounced and bold as it looks on the amazon photos. It’s very faint looking. You can see how faint it is on my video. Disappointing. Not worth your money.

It looks good but it does not have a good seal. I put some really good cognac (Remy XO and Remy VSOP) in this decanter and each time my cognac became very bitter due to air getting through. No mdeal. How tight I tried to get the top in, it didn't hold a good seal.
