Don't think so. They slowly dissolve as they soak up the moisture, look like white car litter.

Q: How much would you need for a 7ft*7ft shed and how do you know when to replace the product in the shed?

This is a refill pack and does not include a trap. The same company make a number of moisture traps with their most popular being a 500 gram trap. The trap looking similar to a lunch box, has a vented shelf with a box underneath. The crystals sit on this shelf and when all the crystals have dissolved and are suspended in water in the box underneath it is time to empty the water and refill the crystals. As for capability of the crystals... all dehumidifiers rely on warmth and humidity. Put simply the warmer the air the more moisture the air can carry and the more effective these dehumidifiers are. The medium 500 gram is rated to be effective in a room up to 15 cubic meters. As for your 7x7ft shed (2.1x2.1m). Providing the internal heigh isn’t greater than 10ft (3.4m) one 500 gram trap should be fine. Ps. I have used these a lot over the years in a garage, outhouse, caravan and an old leaky car. They are simple but effective. But just be careful when emptying them, as the liquid collected in the bottom isn’t very nice.
