Can this be wiped on at the top of the mountain before a run (air temp ~50 degrees)?

Yeah, it can be. But I #thinksnow it's best as a base wax ironed on. That said, I have used it on the trail to avoid clumping.

How many applications per pair of skis?

Hi James, Thanks for your question. It takes about 20g of wax to wax a pair of skis, so around 3 applications. It does really depend on your style of waxing though. If your are dripping with your iron on a dry pair of skis, this takes more wax. I would suggest crayoning on the wax to use less. Think Snow, Esther

Verwende dieses Wachs bei meine Skating-Skier. Es lässt sich sehr gut verarbeiten. Keine unangenehmen Gerüche oder Dämpfe. Die Skier laufen einwandfrei. Nach jeden 2-mal laufen wird gewachst. Ski laufen bei allen Temperaturen sehr gut. Jedoch um den Gefrierpunkt noch besser
