Q: Looks interesting from 1st Law of Thermodynamics to cool stereo rcvr --but how do you hook the whole thing up?

I use a cpu fan (cool master hyper T4) and thermal paste to conduct the heat. You can also wire both into a 70w dc power supply. I used a schumacher pc-6 ac to dc power supply with out any issues.

Q: Is this thing qualified to take direct heat from a flame?

NOT at all I was trying to build a ecofan and I burned it out in 2 days on the wood stove there are high heat ones but I dou they can take a straight flame

No water involved. We used an old computer power supply heatsink and fan to make cooling pad for a pet rabbit.

Q: can one make refrigerater

Actually yes those 12 volt plug in travel fridges use one of these. The important thing is to get rid of heat on the hot side. You need a really good heat sink and a fan. The cooler you can keep the hot side, the colder the cold side will be.
