Great As A Break From Arthritic Thumbs!
I was a bit hesitant to purchase the thumb grip for the Ricoh GR IIIx; after all I have a small half case that adds a bit of a grip on the front of the camera so why would I need a grip for my thumb at the rear of the camera? Well, I was wrong; the thumb grip provides a very restful support that I didn't even realize I needed! I have a bit of arthritis in my right thumb (near the base) and while it's not debilitating it does annoy me and I find my thumb can get "tired" (I've noticed that texting is really bad for this. . ). I added the thumb grip and the comfort it provides, by keeping my thumb in a neutral position, is wonderful!! I now wonder what I ever did without it!! I might end up getting one for my other cameras! Well done JJC!!

Not really a thumb grip kind of guy, but this one works great!
At first, I thought, who needs a thumb grip for a camera this small, all it will do is get in the way of the camera's good ergonomics. I wear large-Xlarge gloves, but I find the GR IIIx grip pretty comfortable. But I decided to try it anyway, and it really has made a good difference. It is sooo much easier to hold the camera one-handed with the thumb grip. And since I am often hanging the camera off a ledge or outside a car window or something, I feel much more secure with the thumb grip installed. Now, it is true it takes up the hot shoe, but I don't use the flash for this camera all that often because it doesn't really fit in my pocket with the camera. It is also designed well away from the controls (see pictures) so it doesn't get in the way when I make adjustments. The fit in the hotshoe is quite secure as well, I never have to worry about it. Once you put it on, it will feel like a native part of the camera. Can't ask for a better 3rd-party accessory than that!

Fits perfectly on Ricoh GR IIIx Urban Ed.
It goes in the hotshoe like it was meant to be there. Very sturdy, and gives the camera very nice grip. Highly recommended.

Feels good, fits well, affordable and good looking
Not much to say other than it's great! It fits perfectly into the hotshoe, no wobbling or fighting, feels nice and solid, looks good, especially with the tiny strip of leather (though I'd tape over the logo or something), and gives you enough room to press the power and shutter buttons and operate the Adj. rocker underneath it. Small and round enough that it doesn't get caught coming out of a pocket or anything. Haven't tried it with a case though. Overall, highly recommended. Makes me a lot more confident one-handing my GR.
