Which is better than the magnetic one?

I prefer this.I have used a magnetic one, but phone would sometimes fall off on speed bumps, and the magnet looked ugly on my case.Then I chose this one, and I really love the way you press the button on the back and the little arms open up so you can just take the phone out without it falling off or moving around.

The Samsung J4 is just a little bit longer and wider than my J6, and it would certainly hold a bigger phone than mine, so a J4 will fit in this holder

Sorry but I don't know. I don't know how wide the Garmin is. If it is no wider than an Apple iPhone 12 with a protective phone cover it should fit but I don't know how long your device is so I can't say for sure but it fits most mobile phones no problem. I am very pleased with it.
