Great Trailer for a Great Price
We purchased our InStep Quick N EZ Bicyle Trailer (orange) for two reason: to get our 19 month old daughter out bicyling and also as a cargo trailer for weekend bike tours. Assembly was quick and easy. It basically comes in the form you break it back down to in order to travel: probably no more than 5 inches thick. The wheels snap easily into place and the upper roll bar pulls up and snaps into place. You snap the top on and velcro the bottom edges down. That was quick and easy. The hitch folds under the body for travel and swings out for use. The most challenging part of the set up is the bike connector. I use a road bike so I had to take out my rear skewer, add the connector and reassemble. That being done the trailer connects to bike fitting with a cotter pin and that's it. 3 of my boys joined me with our daughter for a 10 mile bike trail ride at a local college. We squeezed 5 bikes and the trailer into our Suburban with the rear seat down. We had bought a toddler bike helmet, that Erin did not take to very well. I strapped her in the trailer in the middle position. She looked a little concerned so I made some faces at her until she smiled. We put on the helmet, but it pushed forward over her face when she leaned back because it hit the seat back so we just took it off. I was concerned about pulling a trailer behind my road bike, but it is a good clean connection and pull. We had a very fun ride together our first time out. Erin fell asleep for part of it of course. We got a lot of smiles as we rode by. I have a tour planned for sometime in July with one of my boys. We'll pack it with a tent and supplies for three days riding and two nights camping. We're looking forward to that. I highly recommend this trailer. It's a nice looking trailer, it sets up and breaks down very easily, it is very affordable and has mutiple uses. If you are not in the market for a $400 plus bike trailer this will be a good fit for you.

Compact fold up, excellent structure
Came packaged nicely. Super easy set up and really easy once you do it a couple times. I’ve used this in the rain, winter and hot days. Although the material is not waterproof it protects pretty well as the water glides off if you’re going fast in bike mode. During winter the clear window offers great protection from the wind in bike mode again. During summer in bike mode the kids get a good breeze and there is enough exposed framework to attach portable fans. Straps are easy to adjust and the side push buttons release is easy especially when I have long nails. Tip- when adding the handlebar for stroller mode, unsnap the fabric from The back, add the handlebar and snap back. Easy to clean if you need too. I left mine for a couple days on car roof in a roof bag and it rained and water for in. The material did look like it was developing some mold. It was pretty easy to remove the inner seat to wash and the out shell was scrubbed and dried with a air blower. The tension of the seat is adjustable as there is a bottom strap that adjusts, see red arrow in my pic. So as kids get older it can be loosened and give older kids more room. The back pocket holds so much stuff I had a diaper back, mini still for myself and one for the baby, snack bag and summer toys like kites and bubbles. One thing to keep in mind is small items as they can roll forward from the back to where the kids feet are. Not really shown but mine came with a little flag. Only thing I didn’t like was there are two small pockets (see yellow arrow in pic) on each side on the inside. It fits ultra slim water bottles but not some of the rounder sippys baby’s use. It looks like a wide pocket but the top doesn’t allow much stretching. All in all, a great 2-1 buggy.

Just Right
I researched this purchase alot and I found the reviews to be helpful so I will add my insights. I have many years of biking experience and am a former bike mechanic. I would have recomended this trailer to my old customers. The trailer is well made. The welds are very good and the canopy fits tightly. You do need to adjust some straps to get it to fit spot-on but that's to be expected. This trailer is light and easy to fold up and store as well as unfold and get ready. The process to go from folded to ready to roll is about 4 minutes. The trailer is self explanitory so you don't need to haul the directions around to get it set up. The bike hook up is easy, however you need to balance the bike upright to do the hook up. Not a big deal and once the coupling is complete you can lay the bike down. I have two kids who will use the trailer. They are a tight fit inside as I expected. They are comfortable; they have good leg room and a spot for each of them to have cups etc. There is ample room behind them for storage too. The saftey straps are a real bugger. They are not a fastex buckle as you would expect. They are a snap-hook and a "D" ring hook for the shoulder straps. This is ok going on and a pain getting off. Not horrid but really annoying. The trailer tracks the bike very well. It does change the geometry of the bike though; so it will take some getting used to. The added weight really is a good workout. I have kept the speed down. I don't want to really be moving and need to do a quick manuver with it. You do need to be careful about clearance though. Keep in mind your footprint is three times larger than without the trailer. I have been sticking to pavement for now. I want to get my daughters comfortable with it before I go to dirt roads. I will have to do some adjusting of the tire pressure for off road so they don't bounce to death. Over all for the price you are getting more than your moneys worth. I will add to this review if I have an issue down the road. ************* Update 7/18/07. We have around 200 miles on the trailer. So far there have been two issues. The first is with the front wheel you use when using the trailer as a stroller. My wife used it twice and noticed one of the wheels was tilted.-The amazon picture shows one front wheel, there are actually two side-by-side- It ended up being more than tilted the axle was bent badly. I called InStep and they shipped a replacment out very quickly. I would really caution you not to load this up and use it as a stroller...the front wheel just can't handle it. The second issue is a trivial one yet it is an area that a design change could be made. The floor of the trailer is fabric. When rolling your child needs to keep their feet on the front frame bar. If they do not they can push the fabric down so it rubs along the ground. My daughter did this for a short trip and one area is now very worn. It would not take long to get a hole. A plastic tray or a rub pad on the bottom could solve this. So far asking them to keep their feet on the bar has sufficed....just keep it in mind. I would rate this as my best buy of the year and one I wish I done three years ago. I'll update this again if an issue crops up.
