The kickstand is more than a minor issue.
So I read several reviews and noticed the kickstand being "difficult" was a complaint. It isn't an irritant, it is a crazy design flaw. You have to push on your screan agressively to unsnap the kickstand. There is no way I am going to be pushing on my expensive device to open up the case that is in theory suposed to be protecting it. Not to mention the case is heavy, seriously heavy. Oh and there is no place for your pen.I have always been an Otterbox fan, but this one missed the mark. Also the way you have to ram/push your type cover into the second half of the case is unacceptable. I thought I was going to damage my Surface Pro trying to remove it. This was irritating. Not to mention why pay for a colorful type cover only to not be able to see the color? Insult to injury, I get to pay 9 bucks to return it. Ugh.1 star for the randon person who likes a bulky heavy case and never plans on using the kickstand.

Decent case, but it makes opening the kickstand annoying
Adds a bit of protection to the Surface Pro, similar to cases for phones for the same purpose (drops and scratches and whatnot), plus it feels better grabbing the edges of the device with a case on so I have less chance of hitting buttons accidentally while I move it around.Only real problem with the case, which I suppose is unavoidable: when the whole thing is closed, the part covering the kickstand snaps around the bottom corners to lock it all in place. When you need to open the kickstand, you have to spend some time and effort to un-snap those corners, almost to the point where you feel like you might break something (whether on the case or the Surface itself, I can't tell).Once you get that open, it sets up normally, though that kickstand flap just sort of hangs, not really attached anymore. It's a very minor annoyance (I'd prefer it to stay "locked in" somehow), but it can't be helped. The rest of the case stays on the upper half of the tablet just fine, and the type cover portion is already separate so it's unaffected (that part of the case does not get in the way of operating the type cover, all good there).Other minor annoyance: the Surface Pen's magnets can't quite get in contact with the edge of the tablet anymore, so the attachment is slightly weaker. The Pen can still be magnetically attached, but it will be weaker than before, so it's more prone to falling off. Best not to rely on it staying put: you should make sure you have it stashed away or laid on a table when not in use.So, a good case with tiny annoyances that don't get in the way of the overall experience.

This case is great as long as you don't try to open the stand on the back of the tablet. You have to pop the bottom two corners of the case off to get it to stand up and it's awful. I ended up ordering another case because of it. It's also annoying if you have the pen for the Surface because there is nowhere to put it (other cases have a pen slot).

Not practical
This will definitely protect your tablet. The symetry case is somewhat unpractical though. This case severely restrict stand usage and does not secure your surface pro's pen.I bought this out of product loyalty since I have had some great cases for my phones in the past. This case has made me rethink that product loyalty and I will think twice before blindly buying an otterbox in the future.

I wish I had read Erin's review before I purchased this. I feel like I am going to break the screen every time I open the kickstand. I expected more from OtterBox after having used their phone cases.

The more I use it the more I like it.
After cracking the screen on 2 surfaces I decided it was time to invest in a case. OtterBox always had a good reputation and pictures seem to show that it had a good all-around coverage. At first I was a little unimpressed for how much money I spent but after using it for a little bit I realize it is a lot better than I give it credit for. It's done it's job and I don't feel like I have to handle my backpack like I'm carry glass around.

Good quality, terrible design.
It's a good quality case like any other otterbox, but the design is horrible. In order to get the kickstand out you have to literally snap off half of the case every single time. It's very tedious and i can see the case getting loose after popping it off constantly just to use the kickstand. If you plan to use the surface pro mostly in tablet mode it's a nice case, but if like me you will use the surface pro kickstand daily then you're going to get very annoyed very quickly. I got this [MoKo Microsoft Surface Pro 2017 / Surface Pro 4 Case, All-In-One Protective Rugged Cover Case with Pen Holder, Hand Strap, Compatible with Type Cover Keyboard for Surface Pro 2017 / Pro 4 - BLACK] instead and am very happy with it.

Otterbox Letdown
There is nothing really to like about this case. Bought based off the Otterbox brand. This is a failure. As mentioned in other reviews the case doesn't allow you to deploy the kickstand easily, you have to pry off both ends of the case to allow it to even open. Not well thought out, or effective in anyway. Also there is no catch for the keyboard, unlike some other cases on the market, this leaves a weighted keyboard flapping around.

As described
Looks fine and sturdy, didn't actually get to check it out for size as I experienced the infamous shaking screen on my surface book 4 and returned the device.

cover slips off top of surface when using quickstand
Not very impressed. Seemed like a good idea however whenever I'd unclip the back and use the quickstand, it would push the top of the case up slightly just raising it enough to not contact the volume or power buttons. Also unclipping the case every time I wanted to use the quickstand (every day, multiple times), got pretty tedious. I bought a UAG cover instead and like the approach they take better, it doesn't allow for quickstand use however the UAG case has a built-in stand.

Very bulky and scratched my surface
I guess as should be expected with Otterbox but such a light product turns into a brick with this case. Pen storage is not very convieient and the back flap to insert the charger is a pain to get off. Most importantly because of how the case rubs against the side where the charger is to remove it all the time it actually scratches my surface which I was not happy about.

¡Perfection!
