Monitor for gamers / coders / wfh
Very good monitor to gamers and coders. Loving the high refresh rate and vivid colours.I think the monitor is just a bit too bright for me but that's okay. Best thing is you can do 144hz via HDMI provided you have good gpu. Ran valorant at 1440p 144 hz with ocassional frame drops as I'm using a potato laptop. Apart from that I'll recommend this monitor. Go for it you won't regret.

Best in class gaming monitor for the price!
Awesome experience with this 2k 170hz gaming monitor. Works flawlessly at 144hz connected to laptop via hdmi. Need display port to use it at 170hz. The swivel and height adjustment are very smooth. Sturdy stand and very good color reproduction. Plays valorant and csgo smoothly at 2k at 144hz. Just love it!

A Superb Monitor!!!!
I have been using this monitor for more than 1.5 months for work, media consumption and Gaming.Wow this monitor is the best (Obviously having high expectations considering the price tag).My unit has almost no backlight bleed, no dead pixels as such. This monitor can be used for content creation as it covers higher color gamuts.Gaming feels butter smooth no input lags as such.It can hit 165Hz only using DP cable not HDMI(144Hz max).Overall very very satisfied with the product its an all-rounder product.CONS:1. Port Placement is worst .. needs some doing to place your cables back in the port2. Don't buy for inbuilt speakers they are the worst.. sound quality is not even sub par3. Color caliberation out-of-the box is the worst. I mean very worst.TIP:I found Racing mode with color temp R- 77, G- 91, B-100 to be the best

Good monitor , weird flicker
10/10 monitor as seen in reviews .In HDR mode you cannot turn off local dimming.(or atleast I couldn't I tried for 1 hr to find it.)HDR is very good .I have weird flicker @170hz with HDR (but I am not returning it as i seem to have gotten a fresh model and I don't want to get a refurbished/not fresh piece.)I m using it to play most games with HDR @144hz (very good colors and terrible local dimming )Monitor seems to be color accurate at 100hz as well . Did not test any refresh rate below this .Keep in mind in HDR mode you have to enable it in windows first and then select brightness using windows itself.Let's be real you are not a competitive gamer you don't need the lowest response time .Use Cinema HDR ,don't use asus gaming HDR .Turn on HDR + G sync + ELMB sync(over drive 60) ,set games to ultra now have fun and chill.

Perfect
Received the product in new and perfect condition. No dead pixels or backlight bleeding. However, 27inch monitor is a bit too large (for me), and the speakers are really bad, but i beleive no one really expected a good speaker from a gaming monitor. Overall, its really worth it.

Excellent IPS gaming monitor.
Set it up using DP to my gaming PC, and HDMI to my work PC. The monitor bezel is thin, and fit well next to my alienware aw2710hf 240hz monitor. This monitor is bright, I had to turn it down to 60-70% for daily use. Although I wish there were a mode that had more access to all settings, I was still able to get the color settings to match my other monitor. The stand is wide, but only half as deep as my other monitor which is a good thing, I still might put this on a monitor arm long term. The IPS glow was normal, it was not more than I expected, it does not bother me. It is much better than my old dell u2715h ips monitor. In the dark with a black background you can see the back light bleed/ips glow but I didn't notice it under normal use especially in normal lighting situations. See image, left is aw2720hf, right vg27aql1a. You might see it watching a movie that has black bars on the top and bottom, not a deal killer for me.For work, it was great for excel and real time data. Good resolution and clear text.I would say the monitor is on par with reviews I've seen for the gigabyte aorus fi27q and pixio px7.Presets for websurfing is fine, racing and srgb are best. I had to tweak some settings to fix colors for photo work in photoshop all presets were a little warm and bright but were fixable and not entirely out of the ordinary. Also had to tweak the settings for movies to a modified version of the scenery or cinema preset. Will probably setup with a spyder for a better match.Motion is good, this monitor is fast. Played COD, fortnite, star wars, DBZ without any issues. No obvious ghosting or other issues. GSYNC worked well. I'll probably stick with my 240hz for fornite but will switch to this monitor for everything else that benefits more from higher resolutions.PC specs:Intel i7 8700k @ 5ghz32gb 3200Mhz ramASUS ROG STRIX GeForce GTX 1080 TIUpdate: For gaming I had some brightness dimming/flickering at 170hz, changing it to 165hz fixed it. I also found a stuck pixel at the top of the screen, amazon replaced it quickly. The new monitor has no defects, no hot/dead pixels and I don't have flickering issues with 170hz anymore. Very happy with my purchase.

Great Monitor
I got this monitor as an upgrade to my Asus Swift PG279 so I was expecting and hoping it would be better but it really has exceeded my expectations. Not only is the monitor much brighter, with much more vibrant and rich colours but its actually much easier on my eyes than the Swift was despite it being more vivid. The first unit I bought had a defect(dark hues around the edges) but I returned it through Amazon and easily got a replacement. Not sure why more people don't just use Amazon's return policy when they have a problem with a monitor(pixel's out etc) instead of going through the manufacturer which may or may not replace the unit, depending on how extensive the defect is. Amazon's return function is surely much faster and easier than dealing with the manufacturer and they accept returns for virtually any reason at all, even if its not defective. Just return the unit and buy another one. Its really quite simple.Needless to say, my replacement unit is perfect. Oh and G-sync is literally identical in terms of performance between this model and my old Swift, despite this model not having the actual module like the Swift model has. Given the price reduction and the fact that you clearly don't actually need the module now, I'm glad they aren't including them any more.BLB/IPS glow is minimal on my replacement unit.EDIT: I notice that the monitor I purchased is no longer on this page. My review is for the"ASUS TUF Gaming 27" 2K HDR Monitor (VG27AQ1A) - WQHD (2560 x 1440), IPS, 170Hz (Supports 144Hz), 1ms, Extreme Low Motion Blur, Speaker, G-SYNC Compatible, VESA Mountable, DisplayPort, HDMI"NOT the 1080p version or the other option on this specific page.
