It’s such a useful little gadget! Love it! I usually host around 50 people and need a lot of garlic for the curries I make.. this is a game changer! Can peel a whole Costco garlic bag in minutes! My fingers don’t burn anymore! I recommend it and will also send some to my relatives/ friends! Such a small yet useful thing and very sturdy quality. OXO products never disappoint! I did not have high expectations for such a low cost, simple item. But was pleasantly surprised at how well this works! So nice to not have to hassle & peel garlic by hand. Also comes in a nice plastic case for storage. Definitely recommend!

Of all the gadgets that clutter my kitchen drawers, the silicone garlic peeler tube is the one that feels like genuine witchcraft. I was skeptical at first and I was wrong. This simple, pliable tube has completely revolutionized my prep. You just pop in a clove or two, roll it back and forth on the counter with a firm press of your palm for a few seconds, and then pull out cloves that are perfectly undressed, their papery skins left behind as a dusty mess inside the tube. It requires no brute force, no sticky fingers, and absolutely no fumbling with stubborn, clingy bits of peel. For anyone who cooks with any regularity, the sheer ease of use is an absolute game-changer. After use, simply rinse it. This unassuming little tube has eliminated one of cooking's most persistent minor annoyances. It's a five-star tool that I highly recommend!

I own a smoked spice business and peeling my smoked garlic used to take forever. This little tool cut my peeling time by more than half! I still had to do some by hand but this was a great improvement!

I am a gadget junkie and I find this Oxo Good Grips Garlic Peeler to be one of the few gadgets I have tried lately that delivers success from what started as a cool idea. I use LOTS of garlic and though I do like dried garlic powder in some applications, there is no substitute for fresh. Sometimes, it was just too much for my lazy soul to deal with the sticky mess of cleaning and dicing garlic cloves and on those days I had to settle for dried. BUT, there are lots of new gadgets to squander my money on and I hit on this one. The other night was the innagural run of the peeler and I was making pasta with garlic sauteed in olive oil. You break the cloves from the bulb, insert 4-5 into the silicone manicotti shaped tool and roll on the counter top with your palms for several seconds. Dump the contents into a bowl to seperate the whole peeled cloves and avoid having the paper fly all over the kitchen. In less than 5 minutes, I had 1 WHOLE BULB of garlic cleaned and ready to run through the new garlic hand press that I ordered in conjunction with the peeler. The new press is the heavy duty variety that is capable of crushing the cloves unpeeled but with this handy device, peeling them first actually saved time and the mess of cleaning the residual paper peels from the press and that was probably 1/4 the time it would have taken to process the garlic using the old smash with a knife blade then chop method. Clean up was relatively easy by using my fingers and a small amount of dish soap to rub the peels of the inside in a jiffy. I am very happy with how this product functions. I also recommend this garlic press Trudeau Garlic Press as an excellent mix of price/function. ************Update 6/4/10********************************* Last trip to the grocery I found some beautiful garlic with huge cloves (not quite elephant garlic size) and bought 6 bulbs. When I tried to peel these very large flattened cloves (1 clove was a snug fit in the tool), the peeler did not work as well as when peeling "normal" sized cloves. I experimented with it a bit using 1 and 2 cloves and found that it worked much better after cutting the cloves in half lengthwise BEFORE peeling. This also allows the above mentioned press to work better. No kidding, a single clove was a forced fit into the press before cutting and overflowed the press cavity even AFTER cutting the cloves. Im my opinion, this is not a serious negative since this is the first time I have found garlic this size available. I mention it for info purposes only.

This thing is great. I moved to using fresh garlic and a garlic press but it always takes so long to peal garlic my hand almost to the point it doesn't make sense to waste time doing it. This thing makes it so easy and fast I'm surprised we never bought it sooner. It's also durable enough to just through in the dishwasher. But also comes with a case to prevent the grippy nature of it from picking up other dust or other things. Would highly recommend to anyone who is pealing garlic by hand. It's a thicker rubber material so it's going to last a while and in a shape and size that's easy to use.

My first experience peeling garlic was a my first job - I was a Freshman in high school, and got a gig as a cook's assistant at a local Italian restaurant. First task? Peel a 3-gallon bucket of garlic cloves with a paring knife. I tell you, I wasn't aware I had so many nerve endings under my fingernails! My fingertips stung and stung for a couple of days. Over time, I got better at peeling garlic, but it was still an unpleasant task, made no better by the occasional finger sting. Eventually, I learned a couple of tricks, such as shaking the garlic cloves in a Mason jar to loosen the skins or knocking them around in a food processor with a dough kneading blade. But then my friend told me his wife had purchased him a "garlic roller" as he called it. Like many products you see on Amazon, once you're aware of them, there's dozens and dozens of choices / variations for different suppliers, but I decided to go with OXO because it's a brand I know and trust, and one that focuses on excellent design. Pros: • Great design - flared ends helps keep the garlic cloves inside while you roll them to loosen the skins • Comes with a case - it's a nice touch I since if it's stored in a drawer it's kept free from dirt and dust, and you don't have to wash / dry it before use - helps hide it if the color doesn't match your decor • Silicone material is familiar food-grade material used for bakeware Cons: • Only one color selection • A tad expensive

This came with package half cut and open. The product doesn't look used but it's not nice receiving something that's half open and package cut

Easy to use, easy to clean. Saves a lot of time peeling garlic skins if you use a lot of garlic. Easy storage as well. Great product.
