How to Render Eye-Catching Textures with Copic Markers

I got this because I like comic art and wanted to get a bit better than just basic colours and shading in my art. Despite the fact most of my art is digital this book has been invaluable to me (thank god copic brushes are available). Really good book, very practical and every example is step by step and clear. I’d recommend downloading a swatch of all the copic colours if you want to follow exactly but many of the techniques are easily applied by using other colours but same principles.

Bought this book for my daught who has the alcohol markers that this relates to. It's a great book with techniques and guides. She loves it.

Dieses Buch behandelt verschiedene Texturen und wie man diese glaubhaft mit Copic-Alkoholmarkern auf das Papier bringt. Auf den ersten Seiten gibt es einige Beispielzeichnungen, bevor es unterschiedliche kurze Tipps für Texturen gibt: wie man den Stift für das Zeichnen von Haaren hält, Schatten auf Figuren, wie man Ziegelsteine, Blätter oder Metall malt. Für mich waren diese ersten Seiten am interessantesten, weil man die Tipps auch gut auf andere Zeichenmedien übertragen kann.Den Hauptteil des Buches nehmen vier Zeichnungen ein, die auf jeweils 30 Seiten mit acht oder mehr Bildern pro Seite sehr detailliert beschrieben werden. Für mich war dieser Teil am langweiligsten, weil wirklich jeder kleine Schritt mit einem Bild gezeigt wird. Für Anfänger ist das bestimmt sehr hilfreich, ich hätte mir dafür jedoch noch mehr unterschiedliche Beispiele gewünscht.Zum Schluss gibt es auf mehreren Seiten noch einen Überblick über 358 Farben der Copic-Sketch-Stifte.Alles in allem bin ich mit dem Buch sehr zufrieden, auch wenn ich mir mehr Beispiele als nur vier Zeichnungen gewünscht hätte. Die schnellen Tipps auf den ersten Seiten haben mir am besten gefallen.

El libro es ideal para empezar a pintar con copic, explica de forma concisa el uso y mantenimiento de los rotuladores. La guía paso a paso es muy buena , quizá echo en falta algo más de explicación pero cubre todo los materiales que puedes emplear en tus ilustraciones.Recomendado si quieres sacar el máximo provecho a tus rotuladores y subir el nivel de tus ilustraciones

This book not only takes you step-by-step instruction with a finished illustration, but then it goes into the more basic "swatch-like" color combining outcomes. Beautiful book, and fully worth the money- great investment. This will aid the person who's never drawn/painted in their life, all the way to professional artists who need a new medium. I don't usually leave SUCH glowing reviews- this really warrented one.
