Shackelford's Surgery of the Alimentary Tract - 2 Volume Set: Expert Consult - Online and Print 7th Edition

This is an excellent general surgery textbook. Unfortunately, based on the sales here and lack of reviews, it seems to be overlooked by general surgery housestaff. I would highly recommend it. It is a well-researched, thorough, and practical textbook. Would strongly encourage those of you looking for a new text to give this one a chance. You can get an excerpt through the Kindle app and also review a good portion on the Look Inside feature here. This is a hidden gem of a text.

I think it is the best for gastroenterological surgents... But given that i am not a native english speaker the language is a little more difficult comparing the other textbooks..

Best Gen surg book.

This is definitely one of the best general surgery textbooks available. I never read it during residency, but now that I've got a copy, I wish I had. I primarily used Cameron's text, which is also great, but Shackelford's goes into much more detail on most topics, yet still remains very readable, with information that is relevant to every day patient care.
