Will this work with the 3QXT?

Yes. The angle adjuster is approved to be used with any of our convertible models in the rear facing position as long as the child occupying the seat has full head and neck control.

My son just bought a car with bucket seats and likes a flat surface better. He is tall so doesn't need height. Would this work?

We don't recommend using this product outside of its intended use. This has only been tested with our products and without restraint from a car seat, could become a projectile in the case of any sudden stops.

It is designed to fit with your Diono seat as long as it can be properly installed.

Why isn’t this included with the car seat?

Probably because it's optional and not needed for the carseat to be used properly. It's an option thats used to allow the seat to be rear facing longer. Not all who buy this seat use it rear facing at all or may switch the child around before the angle needs to be adjusted.
