My product stopped working and it wont produce steam even with green light on. Any clues on how to fix this ?

Mine worked great for the first three times and then it stopped producing steamer getting hot the blue light stays on and it does nothing. I’ve emailed back-and-forth with the company about 15 times and they tell me unless I have the receipt or the purchase order. They will not help me at all. It was a Christmas gift and I don’t have a receipt. All I wanna know is how to fix the damn thing, but they are not willing to help me troubleshoot. It’s too bad because it works great three times I got to use it.

I only used my steamer once. I tried using it few days ago and it won't steam. It heats up, light turns green, it just won't produce any steam!

THE FIX: My device stopped working after first refill. Both lights were on and it made continous grinding sound, but no steam. Here's how I fixed it. No disassemly is required. No need to flush it with vinegar either unless it was used heavily for months.
The problem is likely that air bubbles get in a line inside the steamer's handle which leads from a reservoir to a pump. Water pump is not powerful enough to create vacuum to dislodge the bubbles.
1. Fill the reservoir completely with distilled water. Make sure to top it off. The idea is to have as little air inside a reservoir as possible. Put the reservoir back in place.
2. Turn the steamer upside down. That way gravity helps water to clear air bubbles and get to the pump. Make sure to point the steamer away from hands, faces, cats, etc. while holding it in this awkward position.
3. Turn on the steamer. Tap the steamer repeatedly, not too lightly, but not too hard. This helps to dislodge air bubbles.
4. If you're lucky, after 10-15 seconds the sound from the steamer will change and it will start producing steam.

Question 3

One person said that you have to use only distilled water with this; is that accurate? Why would there be a problem using regular tap water?

My original response was based on my 2012 Model GS23, and thanks to a comment on my answer, it needs to be revised.  I see the newer GS23R model's instructions (available online) do say to use distilled water to prevent mineral deposits in the boiler that can reduce performance or clog the water system.  I guess Conair may have had reports of clogs (or modified the newer model) and changed their instructions.   (Original answer:  The instructions that came with mine say "Open the inlet cover and fill the reservoir with everyday tap water (filtered water may reduce hard water problems)."   I've been using tap water for 4 years, it's used about once a week, and it still works fine, no problems.)

I had your steamer and it died. Has this steamer been improved or will I have to throw it out again

I have been using this steamer for about three months now, at least weekly.   Most of my pants and shirts are cotton,  made in India and steam better than ironing.  Have had no problems,  I use distilled water, and I absolutely would recommend this steamer to anyone.   I have had different ones in the past, and I by far like this one the best.  I  love the attachments that come with it as well.
