Gearbox Humor and Mayhem, Toned Down For Teens
This is a game from the makers of the Borderlands series (1 and 2), and where those games went over the top (gaining them absolutely deserved M ratings) the goal with Battleborn is clearly to capture the same sort of humor with edge and sass, without treading the crude line so harshly, or indulging in the blood and gore. The game is a first person shooter with multiplayer battle arena conventions. There's a cooperative campaign mode (with freely replayable missions which scale in difficulty for number of players and self-selected levels) that offer up progression, and competitive multiplayer matches, which pit players against each other (and swarms of AI opponents) with a different set of rewards at stake.Players progress every match anew, building their "helix" as they see fit as they progress with their chosen hero (25 at launch, 5 more confirmed), but also rank up their chosen hero's permanent level, as well as their own global rank. This triple level setup means there's always something to strive for, even if only increasing the power of a hero within a single session. But beyond that, there's gear... Because, Gearbox.Gear is most easily earned via cooperative games (where gear is dropped by defeated enemies and earned through successful completion of the missions) , but can also be grabbed after completing competitive matches and acquiring currency sufficient to purchase bonus packs. These random packs scale in price with the quality and quantity of loot they offer, and are available in the generic sort, as well as those specific to one of the five factions. With the booster pack gear mechanic and loot drops in missions there's plenty of options for players to go hunting for the perfect loadouts for their favorite heroes.Which, of course, will vary by player preference. There's a lot of variety in playstyle available across the 25 options. Each faction's Battleborn share a theme, but there are major differences even within that loose idea which ties the heroes together. Melee, run-and-gun, sniper, support... options abound. Not that everything is given to you on a silver platter. No, the options to start with are a bit more sparse. With a selection of the available heroes unlocked from the get-go, there's a ton of incentive to meet unlock requirements for a specific hero, or to work on advancing through the global command rank in order to get all of them. But, wait, there's more.Remember, each character has a persistent level, which is gained through play as that individual. Well, that gets you not just neat taunt and color fluff (also available from loot packs) but unlocks new helix choices. So true masters of a character won't just have experience on their side, they'll also be able to choose from three options a certain number of times each game. The initial verdict? Fun. Frenetic. Addictive. A must-buy for anyone looking for a stylish shooter with a lot of flexibility and depth.

Battleborn is amazing at what it tries to do
Battleborn is amazing at what it tries to do, and everyone that doesn't like it simply did not understand what they were buying or the game wasn't the right fit for them, not a bad game overall. For anyone deciding if they want this game, please read this so you can better understand if BattleBorn is the right fit for you. First of all, BattleBorn is not an OverWatch clone. If you like league of legends/ dota/ smite, you will find pleasant similarities in BattleBorn. As much as the marketing team tries to make BattleBorn not seem like a moba, it is very moba-y. If you want a fast paced shooter like CS:GO, COD, or TF2, you don't want BattleBorn. Lean towards OverWatch. However, don't expect to play OverWatch like COD at all. It is still very team based and if you expect to be able to excell by just going guns blazing, stick to COD. If you want a campaign, get BattleBorn. It is actually very fun and even though it is short, it is very replayable. Further, there is more customization in BattleBorn with a gear system and talent tree. Some people don't like that concept because there will always be a preferred path/ gear set. However, I like at least finding the optimal ways to play rather than not having those features at all. It's pretty fun earning up credits and opening gear boxes. However, to each their own and if you prefer to be without that then you might like OverWatch. The best advice I could give you to decide if you want this game is to see what games you have preferred before. I loved league of legends so I definitely prefer BattleBorn. I also enjoyed fast paced fps games so I like OverWatch as well. Everyone prefers a genre. I just don't like all of these bad reviews which don't comment on the actual game but criticize how it's played (which was how it was made). Just try to understand what type of games you like and if you enjoy mobas at all, you will love BattleBorn.

The game is good but.... (There's always a but)
Pros: Multiplayer is great and really fun.2) The cast of characters makes this game extremely valuable. Harkins back to borderlands cast with their quirky insanity.3) Voice acting is on point4) Graphics are good enough when viewing the outside of the maps and creatures.Cons: The storymode is a bit boring. They have the same type of missions over and over again. Best way to describe it is like Destiny and if you hate Destiny for its lack of diversity then Battleborn is going to bore you.2) As there is a loot system that you have a chance to unlock skins or taunts. But the only real reward you get is unlocking new characters and different color palettes for the characters.3) I don't know if this was just me but during a boss battle I kept getting extreme lag and I was playing solo through story mode. It was rubber banding me and throwing me off the cliff. So that was really just souring my gaming session. Conclusion: The game has what I love from Borderlands, the capability to play with others and the characters personality. But this game is something I wouldn't pay full price for (again). Maybe on sale it'll be worth it or with further expansions through the season pass.

Divertido.
