This rare album contains four of my favorite tracks by Download, namely "Uhm", "Neuron Proper", "Starving", and "Hoorse". Honorable mention for "Zass Pie", "Sorcear", and "Eruption".Krakatau, Parts 1-3 is an interesting 8+ minute track. The first two parts are quite experimental, almost like cuts from their 1995 debut album 'Furnace', while Part 3 turns ambient, like a lost segment from the 1997 album 'III'.Overall, FiXeR fits in nicely with much of Download's post-2000 work (Effector, III Steps Forward, and Lingam). So if you like this period of Download's career, then by all means track down a copy of this CD. Nice Dali-esque cover art on the latest pressing too.

This is the new technophilic sound of Download: beat focused and more diverse in synthetic sounds, but also cleanly produced. I love every song on the album with a special mention of the song Uhm which is possibly the best track by Download ever.If you like this definitely check out the other collaboration of Cevin Key and Phil Western, PlatEAU.

Once again, Download serve up a cybertastic smorgasbord of surgical beats that only gets better with repeated listening. It's smooth, composed and combustible all at once. The only painful thing about it is the inevitable long wait till the next release ... Phil western and Cevin Key are the funkiest industrial/iDM/techno cyborgs on the block.

できるだけ大音量で聴いた方が良いし、その才能の所以がワカると思う。一般にはスキニーパピーが有名であり影響力大きい（ダウンロードのアルバムには駄作も存在する？）と思われがちだが、しかしそれは脈絡を持って俯瞰していないだけであり、連続性の中で捉える事ができたなら、過去の作品の評価も全く違うものになるはずだ。１st・2ndでスキニーパピーの呪縛を打ち破った後、3rdではメカニカルなビートの上に、ランダムで粗暴、肉感的でダンサブル、同時にトリップ・ホップとトランスの緊張感を織り交ぜ、全く新しいダウンロードとしての世界観を提示してくれたが、今作では、それらが更にもう一段レベルアップされ、怒濤の色彩感覚を聴く者の頭に何度も上書きしていく様な印象だ。3rdと並び、そして超えるのは今作に間違いない。
