Perfect for sparring/training

Got it for my boy and he loved it. He said it's the modern style and wished if they made the traditional style. Overall, the quality is great.

First the good: the design is great, it handles well, holds up to moderate practice fairly well (haven't done anything extreme yet) and the price is absolutely stellar.The bad: The grip. Oh my god, that grip is so bad! After a few moderate training sessions I had bruises, scrapes and even flat out CUTS from the sharp ridges on the handle. It's fairly easily fixed though, just wrap it in some hockey tape or something like a sword-wrap and that problem pretty much disappears.The weight is also... well, quite a bit lacking. I know, I know, I read the description before ordering it so I knew what I was getting into... but still. A quick internet search found that actual weapons of around this length are anywhere from twice as heavy to FOUR TIMES as heavy! Of course, this can also be fixed, and right now I am experimenting with doing exactly that with some weighted tape... (I will try to update this review afterwards to reflect how well that works)Aside from that: I would give it a hearty recommendation. It's a good product for a great price, and its drawbacks are worked around. Thanks for reading!
