very effective adapter

Picture was misleading
The cord on this VGA extension is thin which can be good or bad depending on what you’re looking for. The jacket on the cord isn’t very sturdy but adds to the flexibility. The biggest issue with this is that the photo misleads you to believe that the angled female head is slimmer than it is. The photo attached shows that it adds a significant amount of bulk. This makes it useless for my purpose and I’m a little annoyed it wasn’t shown better in the photo. Also the screws on the back end of each side are exceptionally long. This product can certainly serve a purpose to someone who knows the exact specs, but it will not work for what I need. And it’s certainly not as slim as it’s painted out to be.

Okay for friction fit, but sloppy tolerances on the thumb screws
The issue with these cables (I bought two) is that the thumbscrews on the straight-ahead connector are of very inconsistent lengths. If you're only going to friction fit the cables this won't matter to you, but if you want to actually use the thumbscrews to (tightly) secure that end of the cable you'll have to stack up some washers at the plastic end of those screws. Also, the "barrel" nuts have a deep bevel inside, which might be intended to guide screws into them but also means that the number of threads inside is limited, exacerbating the sloppy tolerances of the thumbscrews.

not for skinny laptops
I bought the 1' version of this Left-Angle adapter. What the pictures above don't clearly show is the whopping great bulge on the bottom of the male end of this adapter. It sticks 1/4" past the rectangular shell. That wouldn't have been a problem on my old laptop (and wouldn't be any problem at all on a desktop) but it goes well below the bottom of my new laptop (a Latitude 3400). That puts all the weight and stress of use on the VGA port. This adapter seems like decent quality workmanship but the shape makes it unusable.
