My Cookies Taste Good! I fried chincken too.
I just got this in the mail and made Toll House Cookies with pecans. They taste like Toll House Cookies. To be fair, if you skimp on the chips, it tastes a little tiny bit different than wheat. But it is 100% worth it to bake your own fresh cookies, and they will be better than any of that stuff you can buy pre-made in Walmart or the bakery section of some grocery store, even the big fancy chains. I just realized I can no longer get away with unbleached flour. We had a pasta night and I swelled up so bad it was hard to swallow. Fear has led me here, to this point where I am changing my diet. I did Atkins off and on for years battling my weight problems. I can't go grain free again. I don't want that to be my life. I love to bake. I even bought a grain mill once. I never got to use it because it was far cheaper to buy the flour already ground. I am dusting off my pasta machine but I may wait until I get the bread mix flour to make pasta. Who am I kidding? I'll probably be making that tomorrow with this flour just to see if it melts in the pot. After trying this, I see no reason to cry about eating gluten-free food. I also see no reason to buy countless bags and make my own blend. This is a good product. I don't need to taste every product to know this tastes good. I don't have to miss out on so much with this available. Thanks for making this and making my life as easy as possible considering I'm going to be cooking like my grandma always did, from scratch!!!I have not made pasta yet, but a reviewer says it works fine. I fried chicken in it. I dipped sliced boneless, skinless breasts in egg, then in this flour after it was seasoned. I might add a tad more seasoning next time. It has a texture like white wheat flour 50% and 50% cornmeal like for frying fish. Tastes great! Will work on fish and shrimp and chicken. Is it the same as wheat, no. Is it really good anyway? Yes! The picky eater loves it. She wants to double dip the chicken next time and see how that goes, but I love it as is. Great crunch. Thinner and crunchy like corn meal was in there, but there is no corn in it. So if you can't eat corn, this is your best fish fry ever.

0 BAKING SKILLS BUT BREAD CAME OUT FANTASTIC-HUSBAND THINKS I'M AMAZING!
I have tried baking at different times in my life with miserable results so I just resigned myself to the fact that baking was a skill I'd never aquire. I rationalized that I am a great cook and have a green thumb, but the fact I couldn't bake always bugged me. I've been reading other peoples comments about this bread mix (all great ) and said to myself "yeah, these are from those chicks who can put a pair of false eyelashes on with one hand and roll out a pie crust with the other hand"-in short I was skeptical as to how "easy" it really was to turn out a "real" loaf of bread-much less a GLUTEN FREE(!),DAIRYFREE (I'm VERY ALLERGIC TO DAIRY, EVEN LACTASE PILLS DON'T WORK FOR ME (!)LOAF OF BREAD THAT DIDN'T HAVE THE TEXTURE AND CONSISTENCEY OF STYROFOAM PACKING PEANUTS.I looked at the 6 bags of baking mix ( AND THE TWO *Lodge Logic L4LP3 Loaf CAST IRON Pans* ( bought here on Amazon.com ) that had been staring me down in my kitchen for 5 days and thought about the lousy GLUTEN FREE BREAD my Husband had brought home from the Air Force Commissary the day before and thought "what the H _ ll, what have I got to lose, I'll give it a try" I decided to go "whole hog"-toasted up some raw sunflower and sesame seeds ( I buy them to put in my Husbands oatmeal) in some Macadamia nut oil. My Husband was in the dining room doing paper work and was really impressed( I was praying to the baking Gods that I wouldn't end up looking like a jerk(really -I'm not trying to be amusing)I followed the SUPER EASY instructions (they even put a packet of pre-measured yeast in the package, I ALWAYS MIS-MEASURE!!!) I used the whisk (not the dough hook as the instructions said) on my Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer) All my baking attempts fail so miserably that I thought I'd just go ahead and ruin ANOTHER batch of bread- I made one loaf as regular bread with sesame and sunflower seeds( I added a tablespoon of *"Tropic Bee Orange Blossom Honey" that I bought here on Amazon) to put in my tea- and I added a handful of dried cranberries and a handful of * Newman's Own Organic Raisins (I get them here on Amazon) I substituted Orange Juice for water and added cinnamon (I like a lot. WELL NOT ONLY DID THE BREAD RISE UP BEAUTIFULLY(I SAT IN FRONT OF THE OVEN ON THE FLOOR WITH MY DOG (LOOKING THROUGH THE LITTLE WINDOW AT MY BREAD)BUT IT WAS AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS, AMAZING! THE RAISIN BREAD WAS ORGASMIC.MY HUSBAND CAME HOME FOR LUNCH TODAY -I MADE HIM A GRILLED CHEDDAR CHEESE SANDWHICH FOR LUNCH WITH MY BREAD AND WHEN HE WAS AT THE DOOR PUTTING HIS COMBAT BOOTS BACK ON TO GO BACK TO WORK- HE GRABBED ME AND GAVE ME A PASSIONATE KISS- SAID " HONEY, THAT SANDWHICH ON HOME MADE BREAD WAS INCREDIBLE-HOMEMADE BREAD !- WOW ! IT WAS AMAZING AND SO ARE YOU!" HE JUST LEFT TO GO BACK TO WORK AND I'M IN TEARS (OF HAPPINESS) THANK YOU PAMELA! I'm NEVER going to let on how easy it was(ha-Ha) I FEEL LIKE MARTHA STEWART!

AMAZING!
This mix is AMAZING! Ever since cutting gluten out of my diet, I have missed bread more than anything. I have tried so many gluten free breads and nothing even comes close to "real" bread--I have been so disappointed. My husband got me a bread maker for Christmas so that we could try some recipes out, in the hopes that home-baked would turn out better than store bought. Even then, GF bread recipes are crazy complicated and I thought I would try a pre-mix out, first. I am SO HAPPY that I bought this. It was crazy easy to make in my bread maker--measure out some oil, water, eggs and dump in. Then add the mix and yeast packet (included) on top. Check to make sure the mix doesn't get stuck on the sides as the maker mixes everything and then walk away. 3.5 hours later, my house was smelling amazing and I was finally able to enjoy the first slice of BREAD I have had in months. This stuff is definitely not like your average store-bought white loaf--it's BETTER. It really reminds me of a high-end beer bread that you would get at a nice steak restaurant. It's heavy and dense, but really moist and holds up well over time--unlike all the bread I have had so far that falls apart a the drop of a hat. The texture is really nice. My husband (who is not GF) and I have been just eating slices of it whenever we pass by, because it's so good. It toasts really well, too (though you do need to toast it a lot longer than "normal" bread, I think because it is so dense and moist). I am looking forward to trying it out with some sandwiches, soon, but I'll have to make another batch, since we pretty much demolished the first one in 2 days. It's seriously that good! I am really glad they come in packs of 6...
