This is a product and a company that defines how products and companies should be.
For starters this company sent me extra product just to ensure I got what I needed. They do custom stuff, they are just, for lack of a better word, class. NOW, these targets, got the half inch, put on some straps an hung. They are perfection as well. Nice ping, I through every class of pistol you could think at them today and were perfect. I backed up and slung some .308 and a few 12 gauge slugs just for good measure. This is a quality product. Buy this, at this price, cannot be beat. PLUS- they came painted flat black, every other target I have purchased shipped rusty. I will be back for more and larger. Do not hesitate to buy.

Works great
100 yards with a 308 did minor pitting. Works great and sounds great on impact.

AR500 Steel?
My first order went missing. They resent it and when it arrived, two of the plates were sitting on my porch outside of the package. They shipped heavy steel plates in an unreinforced plastic bag (like you would ship documents or small items in) so no wonder the first order never made it and the 2nd order almost suffered the same fate.As for the 3/8” plates, I have serious doubts about their being true AR500 steel. After hanging them from chains I tried .22 and 9mm on them from 10yds. In the pictures you can see the impacts as grey smudges. Those impacts left no indentations. I then moved back to about 35-40yds and shot the 10” plate with a lead, 150 grain, 30-60 hunting round, which punched straight through. Another shot nearly passed through. See pictures. While most ar500 steel sellers recommended at least 100yds for rifle rounds, they also say impacts should occur at 2,800fps or less to avoid pitting. The 30-06 round was less than 2,800fps coming out of the barrel and it did more than pit.I will use these for hand gun calibers going forward, but if you are looking for plates that withstand rifle calibers, I would look elsewhere.

Great Rifle Targets!
I have a pair of 8 inch and a pair of 6 inch half gong plates and I love them. As long as you shoot from about 50 yards, 5.56 does no more damage than shooting 9mm at them. Any closer and you will leave a dent but small plates aren't expensive so they can be replaced down the road. I bought some steel S hooks and heavy chain (1/4" I think) for hanging these on gardening hooks that you can get pretty much anywhere. You want shepherd/gardening hooks with TWO stakes that go in the ground so it doesn't spin when hit. If you only shoot them with a 22 or just don't shoot them closer than 50ish yards with a rifle caliber, I'm confident these would outlast you. The way I'm using them, they definitely won't last forever but they're still worth every penny.

Nice and thick
It's heavy. It's thick. It's expensive. It does the job.I got tired of going to the range and paying $20 to rent a gong and stand every time. Bite the bullet and buy my own. All told, I paid less than $100 for the gong, base and hook, but I figured after five trips to the range it will have been paid for and after that I'm saving $20 each trip. (More money for ammo.) There's nothing like the instant gratification you get when you ping a gong. As I stated, I think these things, not just this one, are too expensive. At least with Prime I didn't have to pay to ship this heavy thing. My only issue is that after I bought it my son told me they had chunks of metal out at the yard, (oil field), and he could have one of his welders cut a piece for me for free. Thanks son for offering after the fact. Well, he didn't know I wanted this thing. Points for offering. Next time.I like to use splatter targets too, but hearing that ping when you strike a steel gong is just more satisfying. The fact that this one is 1/2 inch thick was important to me. We are only shooting a .22 caliber Henry Mare's Leg, 5.56 AR-15's and 7.62 AK-47's at 100 to 400 yards so this thing should last a long while. I like it, but my next one will come from the oil field. More cost effective.

Great product at a great price
These are outstanding targets for our range from a company that sells a quality product at a good price & have been of quality craftsmanship & material. When properly hung and using proper ammunition we have had zero problems, no extreme pitting or wear. All steel targets will pit with certain types of ammunition, muzzle velocities, & distance of target etc. The target in pictures was purchased in 2018 and has taken literally thousands of rounds (this one at 200 meters) and yes if you hit the edge it will crater/leave a mark. (In our experience ALL steel targets we have used over that last 20yrs do the same) I cant speak about "the coating/finish" everything we have ordered has no finish or coating nor do we want any. I highly recommend this company and their products and will continue to use them over the yrs. So take some time to educate yourself about shooting steel & save yourself some time and $$. BTW I don't understand the negative reviews...3" is 3" not matter how big or small it looks in the pictures. Get your tape measure out people.

good quality ar500 plate
the octagon shape ar500 plate looks well made the edges and holes look like its plasma cut which is fine for me as i mainly use this as a backstop in my indoor range. i do this plate as a swinging target plate outdoors occasionally. it measures 12 inches across from side to side its about 13 inches corner to corner and the straight edges are 5 inches each and its 1/4 inch thick. the plate weights in at 8 pounds 11.3 ounces or 3.95 kilograms.it has a dark grey surface finish im not sure if its paint or some kind of coating. i like to hang mine with a thick nylon rope instead of using steel chains for a more audible ring when i shoot it. it wouldn't make a difference with higher energy rounds but i normally shoot air guns with 40 fpe energy or less so if a .177 pellet moving at 600 fps hits the plate it barely moves at all and there's no impact sound with is why i hang mine with a rope.i haven't tried powder burners with this plate so i can't say how well it holds up but its definitely air gun proof.
