The media could not be loaded.  I absolutely love candy apples. They are only available around the fall time in my area. I have considered making them myself however one thing I have been told is the key to a good candy apple is to get the temperature just right and I didnt have a thermometer. I know if the candy is to hot or to cold it wont crackle and harden, it will be more on the sticky or tacky side. I dont like sticky apples so I decided to order this set of cooking thermometers to see if I can actually make them. I have to admit I haven't actually attempted it yet because I am to afraid to make a mess and waste food but I have tested both of these thermometers and they work great! I have used the glass one a few times to test the temp in my husbands coffee. He likes it pretty hot and I can never tell when its in the pot of all the coffee is hot or just the bottom. With this it helps me gauge if I need to heat it up or not. So far I am happy with my purchase, sooner or later I will get the courage to try candy apples.

Cheaply made. Difficult to attach to side of pan even though the pan has straight sides. Would not recommend. Did not accurately show the temperature. The red fluid went up only so far and quit no mater how long I left it in the oil. Ended up burning my chicken! Returned as faulty.

Glass thermometer has all writing on the back, inconvenient.Bracket on metal thermometer loose, came off thermometer, can’t get it back on.

I love it ! I did my candy apples it came out perfect it’s good for the money ..

I use the candy thermometer to make lollipops and its a good one. The only thing that would be helpful is for the numbers to be bigger.

The glass was broken on the small thermometer upon arrival and the pot clip comes off way too easily on the candy thermometer. I essentially had to hold it the whole time I was trying to make candy.
