BFG NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 OC MAXCORE 55 896MB GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 Graphics Card

It is noisier than the 260 it replaced. That unit had served me for years and it never was no where close as noisy as this one, but I know that they are getting harder to find. The reason, in case some were wondering, that I hadn't replaced my card with something newer/better, for some reason, my previous attempts with two other (newer) cards failed to provide me with video. But anyway, the card is doing what it's supposed to do, just noisier.

My old 8800GTS 320 went bad and I needed a replacement. Given the age of my system and the games I play, the GTX260 was the Price/Performance Sweet Spot. The Spot got SWEETER when I saw this deal on AMAZON for the 216 Core Overclocked BFG card [...]. ([...]!) Despite the fact that the card is HUGE and I had to shuffle around some wiring and Hard Drives in my case, installation was otherwise relatively simple. Getting all the advanced NVIDIA drivers to cooperate was a bit more difficult, but the Drivers for the main 3d Accelerated video aspects worked fine immediately. I got vastly increased performance for about half the price I paid for the 8800 2 years ago and the card actually runs COOLER than my 8800! The main competition was with the MSI card, which was at a similar price and was much more highly overclocked. In the end, the BFG reliability and lifetime warranty swayed me. I can always overclock this card if needed (though technically that voids the nice warranty).

Used it as a twin to the evga 260 and they SLI'd great. After upgrading to 2xGTX470's it is being used on a single setup and running cool and fast. Was a great buy.

I bought this about a year ago for my boyfriend and he still uses it. He plays World of Warcraft and League of Legends. He was so excited when I bought him this and constantly raves about how amazing the graphics are on his computer now.

this card is strangely incompatible with the power saving utility that came with my motherboard drivers even though it was in their comparability list. but in all it is a God with games.
