Good but too expensive

Perfect fit on my LC200 , LIGHT exactly same as manufacturer

Used to replace OEM Xenarc bulbs fitted to my VW. These are excellent in all weather conditions and it is worth paying a little more to get the 4 year warranty. I tried some recommended cheaper alternatives first with a higher colour temperature (meaning a more blue light) but, these were not so good in mist and rain and they didn’t last as long - so I went back to these OEM Xenarc bulbs.P.S. Always replace as a pair, if you fit just one the other bulb is almost certain to have a different colour cast, due to age, use or production batch and that is likely to bug both you and other drivers!

I bought this bulb as a spare, so I have no plans to install it until my original bulb fails.However I was concerned about fakes on the marketplace. No such concern here. Osram has product authentication verifier on their website. You enter a 7 digit code that appears on the packaging, and that tells you what serial number should be present on the bulb inside the packaging. I doubt the fakes will have those two labels matched up (unless they got hold of the database, or scripted a query directly onto their website for every 7 digit combination out there) So it provides me with reassurance that I have a genuine product.I do have to say however that the packaging was received in an unsealed box. That was disappointing.

I bought this as a replacement for the lamp in my Volvo XC90. The original lamp had started to produce purple light which is a sign that it's about to fail. Changing the lamp is very easy on the Volvo. Pull out the two metal sliders. Bring the headlight assembly forward. Remove the large cover by rotating a quarter turn. Unplug the cable carefully. Pull the lamp straight out. Push in the replacement and reconnect. Easy, a genuine 5-minute job.

Arrived very quickly and well packaged, absolutely no signs of damage to the bulb or its packaging.This 66240 model proved a perfect replacement for the (suspected faulty) 66040 model in my Audi TT, with similar light emission characteristics and intensity - based on a brief test.For those wondering, the 66240 is the newer model of the 66040, and one of the primary ways of telling the difference are the metal legs at the base of the glass filament, connecting into the plastic base housing. The 66240 D2S should be compatible with ALMOST all cars carrying a 66040 D2S.
