No they wii not work for torsion spring cable, you need 8’6” cables, If you’ve already ordered them or receive them all you have to do is go to a hardware store and buy the new wins and cut the cable 1 foot

The cable measures longer than 8 feet. It is designed for an 8 foot installation. The extra length takes in account the threading of the cable onto the lift cable garage door drum wheels.

Q: how to replace one cable with door up

Release tension on the torsion spring until the door rests on the floor and the other cable is loose, then replace the broken cable and retension both and recoil the spring. Do not try to change one while the spring is under tension.
