Do these corrode the aluminum of the bed rail, since they are steel?

Ford had us switch away from powder coated steel for that reason. They determined that the thin edge of the 302 stainless bracket is less than an 1/8th and corrosion would be negligible.  Testing proved their theory. Anecdotally, we put the very first pair ever made in our 2015 F 150 Alum. over a year ago and they are still like new. No corrosion whatsoever.No reports from anyone since Ford introduced the aluminum bed in late 2014.  Galvanic action was a factor on the 4001 -classic not these.  We are a supplier to FORD on this item-(theirs has a FORD logo) not one case in 22 months.SteveBull Ring Direct

Can someone easily steal these once installed?

Accepted Answer

The screws provided are stainless phillips panhead 1/4-20 x 1 inch. If you are concerned about someone stealing them just use 1/4-20 X1 inch stainless panhead torx security screws. These types of screws are readily available in all screw sizes. That would slow a thief down terrifically. If you are still paranoid about theft(or live in a bad area) then fill the security screw torx head with an epoxy after you are certain of the mounting. I guarantee that no one will steal them and you will have a hard time yourself removing the scew if you ever need to remove the tiedown.

I have a 2015 f150 with a 5.5 bed  and a roll n lock . Will this ancher hooks be flush and not effect my retrax frame on the bed

The Bull Ring is flush with the surface of the factory tail tops on my 2017, which is the same design as your 2015.

Question 4

I have a flush mounted fold up tonneau cover installed. My truck bed stays dry. If these are installed, will they leak water into my bed?

Accepted Answer

No. They are installed in the stake holes and are as tight and probably tighter then the factory plastic hole covers. Besides that (at least on a Ford F-150) the holes are located between the bed wall and the outside fender.
