Nice preamp
Takes some fiddling to get it sounding how I like it, but it sounds good for the price.

A neighbor's HVAC compressor is apparently failing and has become so noisy that I needed to notch-out its loudest frequency until they get the stupid thing fixed. Mic preamps with parametric EQs are few and far between, but this Behringer has EXACTLY the fine-tunable parametric EQ I needed. So I reluctantly replaced my little ART MP-series mic preamp (which uses the same vacuum tube as this Behringer). This unit has a clean sound and new recordings match those made with the ART. Via a couple push-button settings, the EQ can be very precisely dialed-in to remove (or enhance) a very small frequency band. There's only one EQ per channel, so if you need to further tailor your overall EQ, you'll probably need something even more elaborate. But this one's perfect for me.

The EQ is a little tough to wrap your head around, but I did some comparison recordings and I like how this preamp sounds. It's just very slightly different than the reasonably 'clear' comparison. Is it the tube sound? I don't know. I tried to overdrive the tube an really didn't hear anything different. I'm fine with that. I like that it does what it is required at a reasonable cost. I can plug microphones in, run 48V to them if I need, switch the phase, and get a good signal quickly. The adjustable high pass / low cut is super handy.
