Does it matter as long as they kill mice. BTW these have been made in USA for many years.

I had a mouse steal the bait (peanut butter) from the trap. I re-baited the same trap, working the peanut butter better into the curve of the paddle. I then set the arm so that it was not as firm against the little upright tab of the paddle (making it a hair trigger). I carefully set the trap down holding from the underside. Sometimes, when the arm is set as a hair trigger, just putting it down too hard will set it off. Within a few hours, I had the mouse.

Q: can someone recemend a good bait to use with these traps?

I force a raisin under the trigger curl then smear a thin amount of peanut butter on it. The mouse may be able to lick the peanut butter off the raisin, but when they tug at the dried fruit it's lights out! I've killed many many mice and rats this way. i always set 2 traps with next to a wall and with their triggers facing outward. No matter which direction the vermin approach along the wall they encounter a trigger before seeing the bail.

Q: What is the difference between the M154 and M156. If size, difference in size?

According to Victor, M154 and M156 are the same trap. M154 is the old model number.
