Clinical Companion for Medical-Surgical Nursing: Concepts For Interprofessional Collaborative Care

I got this a couple of quarters ago when it was recommended to me by other students. This has been my go to for breaking down all the material. This book discusses the diseases specifically that are talked about in every chapter. What they are, S/S, Nursing interventions, medications, prevention, and education. I have had questions verbatim on exams that I have learned the information directly from reading this book. If you’re someone like me that has issues reading 40-50 per chapter from the textbook, then this is definitely a better option for you. I don’t bottom of their reading material from the textbook anymore and less I’m using questions to study from the end of the chapter. This explains the material to me in a much simpler form, and easier to understand way.

The book itself and the information in this book is great. The quality of this book purchased from amazon is not. I bought this book in July but did not need it until my class that is getting ready to start so I didn't really pay much attention to it when I got it because it was brand new. Today when I opened it and started looking at it, the pages inside are off center. They tilt but only on the right side pages which makes the entire thing feel off balance (as weird as that sounds) because the left page is normal. It actually messes with your vision because one side is correct and the other side is not. Also, the front cover has the content and page number's listed from A-I and at the bottom it says content continued on back cover but the back cover is blank. No content and page number listed for H-Z. Not sure where Amazon.com Services, Inc is getting these books from that they are selling but I would recommend getting from a more reliable source.

Very useful for my med-surg class!!! I recommend it to my classmates because it keeps me from caring around the 1500 page txtbook. It simplifies all the major disease and conditions, narrowing in on nursing interventions and what to expect. No more fluff! I take it to clinical to read up on my patients so I better understand their situation.

I am using this for my care plans and studying for exams. It takes all the fluff out and gives you what you need to know. Love it!

This is a must buy for any nursing student or nurse who needs to understand med-surg without the fluff!! After I bought this book several other classmates also purchased and equally loved it. Very helpful!
