30% Improvement in 3 months!!!
I wrestle with gum disease primarily as a result of high blood pressure medication. Every three months I either see my dentist or my periodontist for a cleaning. Now that I have laid the foundation of this review.... I am always on the lookout for something that helps my cause. I already own a Philips electric toothbrush. I bought this unit 3 months ago at the recommendation of my periodontist. I went to see her yesterday for my cleaning. She said she saw a 30% Improvement!(It had been getting worse). I was waiting to see her before submitting this review. I therefore recommend this product.Note: After about a month it stopped working. I contacted their customer service (Philips) and they quickly replaced the unit. No I did not use it in the shower like another reviewer. Also, forget the claims, you WILL have to continue to FLOSS manually. I believe its effectiveness is in forcing (in my case) mouthwash between the teeth and into your gums.

A GREAT UNIT -- PHILLIPS LETS CUSTOMERS BUY WITH CONFIDENCE -- THEY TRULY BACK THEIR PRODUCTS
After several years of service, my old Airfloss died. Since it was no longer under warranty, a new model was purchased. When first received it looked like it would be a big improvement. The handle itself was improved and more ergonomic. The chamber for mouthwash/liquid is at least twice as large as the original model and the mouthpiece now featured flexible material rather than hard plastic to fit between teeth. In addition the unit can be set to provide one to three pulses of liquid each time it is pushed. Following printed instructions that came with the unit, I first copied down the serial number along with other important data, set up the unit to charge the recommended 24 hours and then registered the unit with Phillips online. This last step is an absolute requirement as will be shown. When first put into use, the new unit was a huge disappointment. It was like getting a spray shower with mouthwash. Spray kept blasting out from everywhere. I kept thinking that it was just me. So I tried all different types of ways of holding the unit as well as my mouth. Spray just kept going all over the place. I was so desperate I even tried duct tape which the unit blew off. Finally after several weeks and a total lack of feeling success with the unit, I called Phillips. After providing my unit and serial number, to my relief, the customer representative I spoke with assured me that there was a flaw with my unit and now with my use habits. She stated that the unit now had corrected revised programming so that the pulses were as they should have been. Immediately she offered to provide a replacement unit. I was told that based on the serial number there was a newer model out that had been through several steps of refinement. What a difference the new unit made! The replacement unit works perfectly. No longer does the bathroom get sprayed, the pulsing shoots between my teeth and it helps my mouth really feel clean. I like it so much I finally got my wife to try it out. Now she also has become a regular user and I imagine it won’t be too long until she has a unit in her own bathroom. As a commendation, from my perspective I must state that Phillips is one company that truly takes care of their customers. If a unit proves to be defective in any way, they back it with service and/or replacements. Phillips truly goes beyond the initial sale. In our family we have their Sonicare toothbrushes, had previous models of the Air Floss and now the newest addition. [Just for the record — neither I nor anyone I even know works for or has any connection to Phillips — except as a satisfied user of their products.]

Great to use along with your string floss. Don't expect it to the like the waterpik, it's very different
A little messier than the Waterpik brand. It has 3 speed modes, 1 burst (1 air burst), 2 burst, and 3 burst. every .5 secs it feels like.Although it feels like its working, its not as comfortable as the regular waterpik brand (This feels a bit strong at times). I have to say the design is quite the nice one, clean and modern. I did have some soreness in some areas, I'm not sure if I might have inflammation in those areas since I floss twice a day and rarely if any have any bleeding. It is a great price. This is a water with air flosser, so don't expect it to be like the waterpik. Other than that, it's an okay product. As a dental health professional, don't substitute your string floss routing for any water shooting flossing device. This is an adjunct measure. Flossing with string floss is essential if you want the best chance to keep your gums as healthy as possible. My water flossing patients that also still use the string floss have hands down the best mouths, versus the "Only String", or "Only Waterflossing Patients". Hope this post was useful.

It cleans the area between your teeth and your gums and improves dental health.
I have used this product for five years. It does a great job in keeping my teeth, mouth and gums clean and reduces plaque. My only complaint it that it breaks down near or at the two year length of the two year warranty which you must register the device to receive from the Philips. Philips customer service is responsive if your airfloss ceases to operate before the end of the warranty and will provide a new one. The airfloss length of service is not nearly as long as their toothbrushes. But it does a great job to help with dental health while it lasts.
