Does the bc20 need an external power or does it plug into an ac port

The BC20 is not powered, if you need it to be louder, go with the BC23A, which connects to 12VDC. The sound from it is great.

How is this speaker powered? I have a uniden R3 radar, and i want a speaker to plug into the aux port so i can have my radio up and still hear.

The speaker is powered from the EXT SP Port, External Speaker. That's it. I purchased a Uniden/Bearcat speaker with my scanner. Plenty Loud Enough For Me! Works off the Volume Control Of The Scanner. If you have a EXT SP port, Audio Companies know how to broadcast it to your entire neighborhood, if you got the $$$ and desire.

Does this come with the wires to hook it up to Uniden 880 bearcat radio

It comes with a single non detachable cord that plugs into the back hole marked "ext. Speaker"

I would like to mount a speaker at the driver's side corner of the windshield on the curved dash surface. Is this a good choice?

No, there would be to much vibration for it. I wired it and mounted it at the bottom of the dash of a 389 Peterbuilt, so it would be stable.
