Electric Bone Nut Cattle Bone Slotted Replacement,Flat Bottom

Big time saver and cheap.

This is a great replacement nut for an Epiphone Les Paul. While other reviewers stated that you can just set it in an Epiphone without much work, I didn't find this to be quite true. As with any replacement nut there is always work to be done if you want your guitar to play nicely. One could plop it right into place and use it, but the slots just are not deep enough and your action would be extremely high. I sanded down the bottom just a little bit and then filed the slots down to a good depth and it works like a charm. The guitar now stays in tune very well, unlike when it had the cheap Epi plastic nut installed. It is ever so slightly wider than the original nut, but barely hangs off the sides of the neck. You really can't tell unless you're closely examining it so I didn't sand the edges down at all. I am quite happy with this nut.

I was really shocked at how well this was cut! Good bone, nice chime it definitely sounded better than gibs old countertop nut, and better than the one i got from gt. As I'm writing this i am getting ready to order another one for my ibanez jazzbox. Good tone good nut!

This is for sure real bone. The horrid smell when I put it to the grinder wooo. It was mint and worked perfectly for me. The negatives really have no clue what they are talking about. The guy who said he took it to his guitar guy was lied too. His guitar guy definitely stole his bone nut and gave him a crap plastic one haha.

I took a chance with this nut and as it turned out, it was the perfect drop in replacement for an Epiphone Les Paul and SG. Just polished it upwith a Dremel and set it in with a drop of wood glue. No shaping or sanding needed. I just ordered a second one.
