This is a great product for respiratory infections and easy to use, howver it is sticky and you need an old pot to use for steaming. Safe and natural

Wonderful balsam I used in England for sinus problems. Cannot locate it in the U.S.

This is definitely a different type of thing to use for a cold. It has a potent smell and I had a difficult using it.

Too watered down, not usable for my purposes

Excellent inhalant to clear stuffed up sinus. Have used it for many years and always found it to relieve cold symptoms.

This stuff is amazing and is getting harder to find.

I had some new boots at work and wore the wrong socks and before I knew it I had the most painful blisters. Fast forward a bit and after a hot soak in the bath I put this on my blisters and crikey it did the job, it stung a bit but it seemed to stick the skin back together. I think I read that this stuff is used to treat blisters in the military so thought I'd try it myself. A few little warnings though, it smells a bit strong, like some kind of varnish strong and be careful where you get it as it looks like it would stain! Wear some old socks if putting it on your feet.

This 'tincture' is a godsend for any outdoor kit, whatever its many other uses. Tincture of benzoin and related are a wonder for second skin situations such as blisters from backpacking, etc. In fact, in a highly advanced form, this can be injected topically into blisters and squeezed, the excess draining. Within minutes one can again walk and this stop acts effectively as if mole skin were applied topically to stop irritation. Of course, doing something like this should be done by someone trained, and it also causes tears as it hurts like a son of a gun for a few moments. This is my intended use. A backup for outdoor kits.

OK, but seems pretty weak

My mother used to make me inhale Friars Balsam when I was a child, so it was nice to know that it is still available. Smells just like I remember! Hopefully, it will be just as good as it always was at helping to clear my chest.
