Great sturdy wooden step stool!
I was looking for a step stool for my 2.5 year old since the Ikea chair we used -- while a wonderful height for her to reach the sink and faucet -- kept sliding backwards. My friend actually bought this stool first and recommended it to me when I mentioned I was looking for a real step stool. Assembly was easy except at the end in which there were a few minutes when I was using all appendages (hands + feet) to try to keep everything together before the parts were screwed together, so retrospectively, I would have put the stool together in a slightly different order than suggested by the instructions for use. Other than that, my daughter loves the stool, and we use it nightly to brush and floss her teeth. She is still a bit short (a.k.a. she's sad she can't reach the faucet handles, but I honestly prefer that for now...), but the stool is sturdy and doesn't slip on the floor so mission accomplished!Note: The product picture on Amazon depicted black non-slip pieces for the steps, but I actually received clear stickers, which I actually like much better. I'd order this again if I needed another one!

Won't recommend this stool
I bought this for our granddaughter to use for potty training and getting onto the bed. First off. When they say "quality wood" they mean simple plywood. I guess I shouldn't really expect solid wood for this price, so I can live with that. The product we received had some flaws. One side board had some wood glue on it like they tried to cover a wood split. There's no reason for glue to be on the stool since it's all screwed. Another wood piece had a split on the edge, but I was able to position the damage to the unseen/unused side. I'm thinking after several uses the edges will probably start to split/chip when the child climbs on the stool with shoes. I'm a bit nervous about her climbing on this with bare feet, but I will inspect it often. The stool we received did not include any non-slip mats as stated. After putting it together I set on the tile floor in the bathroom. The stool wobbled. The best part? The instruction manual states in red there's a 3 year warranty and if "you have any questions you can always contact us and have friendly customer service." Sounds good right? Well, there's no contact number. I plan on fixing the issues with a visit to the hardware store, but I would not recommend this stool to anyone for any purpose. In fact, I told my daughter not to purchase this stool.

Very sturdy, reasonably priced
This is the 4th step stool we purchased for toddler bathroom use (potty training, reaching the sink to wash hands). We tried a folding step stool but it took up too much space and us adults were constantly tripping on it, we tried lightweight plastic step stools touted as easy for your kid to move around and they would slide and scoot when our kid tried to step up on them. This is fairly small, but very sturdy and works great. The only issue I would mention is that with no hand rails we’ve had a few minor falls, mostly stumbles, but nothing resulting in injury. We flatly have no room in our small bathroom for a model with handrails so we’re good with it, but if your kid is really accident prone you might want to go with an alternative.

good
some chips made it splintery, i expected better quality but its easy to buff out. easy to put together. Amazon asked in the review if this was good for potty training. i haven't tried and i wont! wood is porous and will absorb and liquid. there is no finish so the wood would absorb urine. nice stool, my toddler really likes it. if you're looking for something for potty training i would recommend a seat step combo. we have one and it works great. all in all this stool is nice my only complaint is the small chips in it.

Great stool for my toddler, easily customizable
I bought this for my almost 2yr old so she can wash her hands more easily and frequently, and hopefully assist with potty training when that begins. Before assembling, i decided to paint/stain it to match my style and it was the perfect item to customize like this! One note; the grip strips for the steps aren't black, as pictured. They're white/semi clear. I ended up putting them on afterwards but was hoping for the black ones to match the dark stain i did on the steps.
