Great reading for all ages
The stories weren't as good as the ones in the first six books, but it is nice to read stories that are free from the modern social unrest of today.

FAMOUS 5 Book 7 Paperback
Feeling very nostalgic and unchristmassy, I felt like a "Famous 5". 3 of her last stories. What is to say? I loved them in my childhood, and still do on the odd occasion I feel like a reversion to my pre teens (just pre teens AW???). I have all the hardbacks up to No 15 and frankly can't see (or pick up) any "changes" to the text. Mind you, I am not looking for any either. Still enormous fun. I read all 3 in about a week. I wish the "Adventure" books were treated with the same love and care. P.S I should perhaps admit to being in my 70's!! Good VFM

Original illustrations
These original versions of the Famous Five books are very popular with my 10 year old grandson.. The illustrations are so much better than the modern cartoon-type drawings. The books are wonderful for the imagination and give a good sense of the period in which they are set. Definitely recommend.
