Easy to fit!
Excellent!I’m a (nearly) 68 year old grandma and I have managed to replace the old battery in my HP Envy x360 without any issues. I also vacuumed out all the dust and debris that accumulated inside the laptop over the years. New battery fully charged and laptop working like a dream. NB: Battery came well-packaged and with essential tools. Thanks.

Battery caused random shutdowns in an HP ENVY X360
Getting a new battery from HP is almost impossible, and their cost is very high as well. This led me to try this battery as a replacement for a swollen HP original item.At first it seemed like this was all working ok, the battery fitted well into my ENVY x360 15 inch laptop, and started up ok. After a only an hour however, the laptop randomly turned off at no notice, almost as if it had lost charge. This wasn't the case though as the battery still had charge when the laptop was powered back up. Nothing was obvious in the battery report either. This failure was happening both plugged in and not. I tried to run the laptop for 4 hours with this battery, but it turned off 4 or 5 times in this period. Looking in event viewer it was shown as an unexpected shutdown/critical kernel power failure, so obviously an issue with the battery. I also tried to reinstall the Microsoft ACPI driver which resulted in the apparent charge dropping 5% once the driver reinstalled, but the power off failure still existed. It's a shame as the battery was packaged well in a static bag, nice box, etc., but it just wouldn't work with my HP laptop. Not sure if this is an HP issue, but it's led me to getting a 2nd hand HP battery from a well known auction website which is working fine. It's also a pain to return this since it's a lithium battery, and most carriers would not take this.If you don't mind returning this it might be worth the risk of buying, but, expect to return this if you get the same power failures as I did! If you've got an older hard drive instead of SSD also, don't buy this, as the power failures could ruin your disk.

Update from an earlier review
Having spent a lot of time attempting to resolve the issue of the laptop spontaneously shutting without warning since the battery was installed, I've now updated the BIOS, checked and updated all the device drivers, run a number of diagnostics and checked various logs within Windows Event Viewer and the problem remains. The battery seems to charge and discharge as you would expect with 100% charge now being reached, however I am now at a loss as to what is causing this, the problem did not exist before I needed to replace the battery. I did attempt to contact HP directly, they gave me the wrong battery information and an attempt to contact one of their resellers was completely ignored. For a £1000 laptop that is less than 3 years old this is an utter waste so cannot recommend this product or Hewlett Packard, seems we are left to the mercy of cheap dodgy batteries where it is just a gamble as too whether it may work or not.

Failed after 5 months
I purchased this battery in March 2022. By mid August, it wouldn't charge beyond 64%. I replaced the charger, but that didn't help. I ran an HP diagnostic and it failed the battery. Contacted Amazon and got a full refund as it was under 12 months old and therefore eligible under UK consumer law.Update - Having purchased a second one of these in Sep 22 in a hope that lightening wouldn't strike twice, by Nov 23, the battery won't hold any charge at all.

Defective
It causes my laptop to frequently completely cut out as though battery is dead. Have to re-boot and lose data.
