Q: Does this item materially dampen the noise of the Vitamix?

The short answer is No. This takes the place of the similar noise plate that is currently on the Vitamix. It has shorter nubs that better accommodate the container that I have.Noise is a byproduct of the Vitamix. I love mine and it has vastly improved the quality of my diet as well as enabled many efficiencies in my kitchen prep. It's also built to last a very long time in the U.S of A. In other words, I happily tolerate the noise.

Q: Will the centering pad help stabilize the Waring stainless steel blender cup on the professional series 750 model?

First, I have the 5200 Vitamix with the pad and the Waring SS blender cup. You will notice that the 4 nubs on the pad are shorter than the centering pad that comes with the VM. When I blend with the Waring Cup, I always hold it for stability. To me, it doesn't feel unstable, yet I wouldn't blend without holding it. If you're trying to make soup or something, don't use the VM. Go traditional pot and stove top. I hope this helps. Enjoy.
