Very Useful Tool!
Set up a backup, satellite sprinkler system from the spigot in the backyard. When disconnecting that system in the late fall, this tool makes it a cinch. slide down into the connector and turn and you're disconnected in seconds. Everything reconnects with no issue, either. Worth the minor investment to save a ton of time.

Must have for Orbit pvc connectors
We used a few of the Orbit 3/4 quick couplers for non pressure pvc line. They are very easy to use and seem to work great. The Orbit release tool is a pretty much must have if you ever plan on taking them apart again.Only used the 3/4 tool so far.The tool is easy to use and releases the connecting barbs without any trouble

Worked Great
I was fixing a 3/4" underground pipe with the 18" locking flexible pipe sold on this site, and wanted these tools in case I made a mistake and wanted to remove the flexible pipe. I didn't have to use the lock release took, but did use the deburring tool and it worked like a champ. What sold me on this kit is that they threw in the deburring tool with the lock release tools, which I thought was great.

Works great
I messed up and tried using a PVC Lock Slide to patch a puncture in my black 1 inch sprinkler line. It didn't work at all. The Orbit 35809 PVC-Lock Release tool set worked great and as advertised. It take a bit of practice to finagle it all the way into the lock slide side, but once pushed all the way, the pipe came right out. Now I can return the wrong part and get the correct one.

3/4" works great, 1/2" not so much
I used the 3/4" fittings to pressure test a pvc assembly that was going to be hard to get to once installed. I used a cap on one end and a threaded adapter on the other. I bought a hose adapter that fit on the threaded end so that I could pressurize it. After testing I was able to remove the cap and the threaded adapter using the removal tool. The connectors went on and came off easy. They don't leak at all. That's the good news. The bad news is that when I tried something similar with 1/2" pvc the connector went on and sealed just as well, but they do not come off very easily. I was able to get the removal tool all the way in, but the little metal teeth in the connector were still dug in to the pvc. I was able to get the connector off by twisting and pulling, but it chewed up the end of my pipe. I have tried multiple fittings and 2 sets of release tools with the same result. I have also tried putting the connector on and removing immediately without ever pressurizing to see if the problem was from over pressurizing. It still scored the end of my pipe. I was hoping that I could use these to make a temporary seal that I could latter remove and glue a permanent connector in its place. With the pipe so badly scored, I think I will have to cut off the end first to get a good glue seal. I have not tried the 1" size yet.

Built with cheap plastic around the extremely sharp flimsy tin/stainless they use to slide into the fitting. For the most part, I ended up cutting off the existing fitting and putting a new one on rather than using these. The plastic started peeling off after first use.
