Installation is complicated, but the final result is great.
Installation is not easy, but doable. Took me a good 5-6hrs to get it done. You have to take out the air conditioner unit, the central vent, the radio, the glove box, and the AMI. I have a 2016 A4 and it was a little different from the video they have, so I had to use some common sense as well to get it completed. Tip: if you have an AMI in your glove box, you can use 2 thin nail filers to remove it. Just insert them in the slots and open them like scissors. Might take a few tries but they will release it.

Do not make the same mistake I did. Just don’t buy.
Do not buy. This is probably the biggest regret for a purchase on my car yet. I had paid a local stereo shop to put this in who is pretty credible and they could not get the buttons on the actual stereo to work. It would have all been good, but my TPMS light came on and I could not reset as my stereo did not work. Wireless CarPlay is extremely buggy and just not consistent. It really sucks that this didn’t work. Now I have to pay to take everything out.

DO NOT BUY USED PRODUCT BUY ORIGINAL FROM THE SELLER
The module works great. I installed it on my b8.5 Audi A4. HOWEVER this is the SECOND time ive had to order the product (this is not fault of Road Top). Originally I purchased a *Used With Great Condition* version of this module (It was about $100 cheaper) However once it arrived it was a random aftermarket screen with cracks and scratches all over it. Im sure this is amazon getting confused with returns however it caused quite the headache. I HIGHLY recommend to purchase the original product for full price instead of a used version to save yourself the headache of having to return and wait 30 days for your money back. But other than that hiccup the actual new product works great and the wireless Carplay connection is flawless

Not Worth It!
Yes it is installed correctly. Not a fun instal… Microphone for calls is horrible. You have to manually reconnect every time you turn the car on. There has got to be a better product out there. Don’t waist your time and money on this one.

True WIRELESS CarPlay for 2014 Audi Q5
I've been pretty skeptical of CarPlay retrofits, but this one actually works!Know that you'll need to take off your glovebox and place the unit inside, and that you'll need to pop the face off of the headunit and attach new ribbon cables and circuit board. If that doesn't scare you, this is an amazing product.Took about 3 hours total to get the things taken apart, new parts fitted correctly, and everything put back together. Don't make the mistake I did with trying to fit the box behind the headunit -- there's not enough space. 5/5 and would definitely buy again. Great product and works effortlessly, even with my base model Q5 with the very basic MMI 2.0.

lack of functionality
After install the module is working correctly but only the steering wheel buttons are functional, the MMI buttons does not work to control the module menus, so if, for example, the passenger wants to select a different song is not possible from the MMI buttons and only the driver can.

Follow instructions VERY carefully.
Follow instructions VERY carefully if you need to connect the FCP board for 2013 Audi A4. Reversing the ribbon cables connections will burn up the video from the Audi entertainment system and car info menus. The car play will still work. If you see white smoke coming out of the radio, it is too late. The damage is already done. I'm not sure why there isn't a diode or some safety mechanism built in to prevent this or at least print on the circuit board "to control panel" and "to radio". Sound quality is mediocre at best. Regular FM radio has more bass and cleaner sound than the bluetooth by far.

Install is not fun.
For the 2012 A4 install is, or I should say can be, a pain. The car used in the video is simple. My reality was far more complicated. I never did get the glove box out. I guess there is a screw behind the AMI module, and I was not able to remove it. This forced me for the time being to hook up the box down below behind the AC controls, which is a nightmare. You get the box down there and then try to connect the connectors. For those with the issue of not being able to use the AMI controls, you probably forgot the small wire that connects to the new board. You have your ribbon cables, but there is another small wire that must be connected. The new harness that has to be added is sort of too big in my opinion. Lots of wiring to jam in there and it is stiff and tight. I have some concerns. Most likely I will try again some other time, starting with glove box removal, but for now it seems to be working as expected. Just need to mount the microphone, USB, and WiFi antenna yet. Just ran out of light. Probably should have paid someone to do it, but for now, the kids 2012 with the over complicated and lacking head unit is rocking like a modern car.
