Simple Alarm Clock That Gets The Job Done!
If you are looking for a simple alarm clock that gets the job done, look no further! I can confidently say that this is one of the best products I have purchased off of Amazon. The alarm clock is very easy to use, and features a very simple button layout. To set the time all you need to do is hold the time set button and use the two large buttons on either side of the snooze button to set the hour and minute, with a small light on the display indicating AM or PM. The process of setting the alarm is just as easy, only with a different button. The display is huge and can be read from across the room, which is a great feature. You can also precisely set the brightness of the display with a slider on the back, however, at low brightness levels the LCD gets a bit splotchy. There are also some gaps in the LCD that can be seen at a sharp angle, but for the price that is to be expected. I am a pretty heavy sleeper, and while the alarm on my phone may wake me up, it doesn't wake me up enough for me to want to get out of bed. This alarm clock, however, is very loud. There are two speakers on either side of the display that blast ear piercing alarm noises for five minutes to ensure you wake up. The snooze button on the top is very large so if you really need the extra sleep you can pause the alarm very quickly. If you don't need such a loud alarm clock you have the option to change the volume level with a switch on the back. The snooze button also doubles as a light when the alarm isn't sounding, which is really useful for finding things late at night. It isn't bright enough to illuminate your entire room but it does a decent job. The only shortcoming this alarm clock has is the lack of a radio, but I don't think anyone ever uses the radio on their alarm clock. Overall, this is an awesome alarm clock that does a fantastic job without all the bells and whistles of a more expensive alarm clock. The large display and nightlight are also big bonuses.

A solid, practical alarm clock - a must-buy!
So many of the alarm clocks available on Amazon are either ridiculously cheap (both in price and quality) or overly expensive with lots of features that I personally am not interested in. This alarm clock hits all the right points for me: simple, affordable, and does exactly what I'd like it to do. - The numbers on the face of the clock are large enough that, provided you have good eyesight, one could place it across the room (maybe as a motivator to get out of bed and shut the alarm off?). - There is a sliding dimmer for the brightness of the display, which means you can have very bright red numbers, dimmer red numbers, or you can completely turn off the numbers on the face if you prefer complete darkness and don't need to see the time. - Setting the alarm is simple, and it makes the typical electronic alarm noise. - There is another slider on the rear of the alarm to adjust alarm volume; I left it at full volume, and I felt it was jarring but not ear-splitting. - I really love that this clock takes backup batteries, as we all fear that some overnight thunderstorm will come and knock out our power and our alarm clock, and we'll all be late for work. - The nightlight on the top of the clock is just bright enough to read by (if your eyes are adjusted to the dark) without bothering a partner too much. I love this clock - it's everything I want in an alarm clock without all the gimmicks and pointless features. For me, this clock means I can finally start leaving my phone out of the bedroom and stop spending time looking at a screen!

Best Alarm Clock on the Market
Bought an an alarm cock (by Sharp even, which I always thought were a reliable company/group) from Walmart... Seemed awfully fancy that had a USB outlet to charge your cell-phone while you slept, except whenever there was a power shortage or you accidentally unplugged it; you had to switch out the 9-Volt back-up battery when it would eat through these batteries quicker than a fat boy at a candy store. Just as they advertised with this alarm clock, there are no frills or un-needed features. It's simple, it's convenient, and it won't eat-up AAA batteries which are also incredibly cheap and easy to come by in ANY department store. It's simple to set-up, so I would be bold enough to say that you could easily throw out the manual to save it from becoming clutter in your personal space or Google/YouTube the directions whenever you forget how to reset the clock when your back-up batteries run out. As you can tell, the design of this product compliments ANY bedroom and this is the first simple product that I've seen with a night-light which is perfect for any child until they break that habit. I've read over the negative reviews: As long as you buy it new, then I really don't see how difficult it would be to return the product for another one if you get a defective because quality control (you kinda have to put yourself in their shoes) is sometimes a nightmare. Update: More recently, I donated this alarm clock to my mother and hadn't plugged the bugger in for a couple of months...Throughout that time, it hadn't eaten through the AAA batteries I left behind for it; so it really is ideal if you're looking for a simple alarm clock if you're moving around a lot. Personally, if I was camping or RV-ing; I would probably use my cellphone instead of an alarm clock...

Subtle redesign means clocks don't match; Great clock but why the shift?
I bought this clock about a year ago and loved it so much I ended up buying a second one for our guest room. Then, recently, my son needed a clock for his room so I purchased this same clock a THIRD time (shows you how much I like it). Here's the weird part: the third clock is different than the first two. It's a subtle redesign - a digital "PM" instead of a dot next to a "PM" written on the face of the clock and the numbers being slightly smaller and shoved more to the right. But it's disorienting as I'm in and out of all three rooms constantly and now the one is different than the other two. If you're only buying one of these, I fully recommend the clock - easy to set, adjustable brightness, easy to read without glasses. But so strange that the third clock is subtly different than the other two - especially because the packaging and description remained the same! Why the redesign? And if I order again, can I get one to match my first two? Here's a picture - old model on the left, new one on the right - though nothing changed in the descriptions or packaging of this product.

New Version is a Great alarm clock
UPDATE 8/12/2017 Travelway contacted me after I wrote my initial review (below this update) They told me a newer version was in the works, which would solve my complaint about there not being a way to easily reset the alarm for the next day (you had to turn it off and then on again on the back of the unit) They just sent me a complimentary unit of the new version, which was recently made available. The new version allows you to easily stop the alarm and reset it for the next day, simply by pressing the hour or minute button on the top of the unit. I have tested this, and it works great. Since it solves my primary complaint, I have upgraded my rating to 5 stars. Additionally, the new unit I received has a slightly more sturdy feeling for the large top button, compared to the first one I bought. It feels more solid when you press it, and doesn't make any squeaking noise. Overall, version two is a great product and I highly recommend it. ========= OLD ORIGINAL REVIEW Very good as a clock, not so great as an alarm (see below) PROS: very large numbers dimmer slider to adjust display brightness nightlight feature small footprint CONS: The only way to stop the alarm from continuing to sound and have it reset for the next day is to actually pick it up, turn it over, and switch it off with the stiff on/off switch. You can temporarily turn off the alarm by pressing the snooze bar, but every day when I wake up, I don't want to snooze it, I want to turn off so it doesn't ring again and then have it reset for the next day. As mentioned, you have to turn it around and switch the alarm switch off and on again. Annoying. It should have an easy to press off/reset button on the front or top somewhere or have a feature to "double click" the snooze bar to reset instead of snooze it. Cheap feeling and actually makes a squeaking sound when you gently touch the top button bar (as if cheap thin metal is scratching together) Overall a decent clock but somewhat cheap construction and a pain to turn off the alarm each day with the switch on the back.

Love it. Variable brightness is the best!
This clock has one feature that makes it better than any other alarm clock I have ever owned. It has a variable brightness, so that I can select how bright or dim I want it. Most of the alarm clocks I have tried recently are way too bright to be next to a bed when trying to sleep, but this one lets me have it as dim as I want it. I personally like it just bright enough to be visible in daylight, and no brighter, but you can set it however you like it, so it does not matter if you like it different from the way I do. The brightest setting is reasonably bright, so if you like it that way, you should be happy with this, too. For other clocks, I had to buy Dim It light dimming sheets to keep them from being too bright. That was annoying, as it was an extra expense for something that should not be needed, but those are not needed with this clock. This clock is also small for the size of display it has, so it does not waste a lot of space on your night table. And like they say, it is very easy to set up. I did not really need the instruction manual for it, but they have one which may answer a question or two that you might have. My only criticism, which is very minor, is that I wish the sliding dimmer control changed the brightness more slowly, which would make it easier to get the brightness one wants. However, it is a minor quibble, as most clocks don't have this at all, and typically just let you select between two levels of brightness, with many these days being too bright for being next to one's bed even on the low setting. This is a minor quibble because once I got it to the setting I like, I don't have to touch the control again; it is only a minor issue when setting the brightness level. So, I love this clock, and am glad I bought it. As it is a recent purchase, I cannot say how long it will last. But so far, I am very, very happy.

Inaccurate timekeeping - See update!
The display is very nice. I like the way the dimmer works. The digits are big enough for even my seriously nearsighted eyes to see, and they can be dimmed to a nice level. The alarm sound is loud enough to wake me. It might not be for others, but it works for me. The nightlight is interesting but not something I need or use. The major problem I have found with the clock is that it does not keep accurate time. It gains about 2 or 3 seconds per day. That doesn't sound like much. However, it means I have to reset the clock every month, else it gets too far off to be useful. Second problem - When the alarm is sounding, the display changes brightness level. This is the sign of an inadequate power supply. UPDATE! As of 2 Jan 2019: The seller responded to my review above by sending me another clock. The replacement clock is keeping excellent time. After 6 days it has drifted less than a second. The original clock is still drifting by about +2 seconds per day. I discovered that the display brightness changes with the alarm sound only when the display is dimmed. If the display is at full brightness, then it does not change when the alarm sounds. Both clocks show this behavior. This is the sort of thing only an engineer would notice or care about. High five to Travelwey for their customer service. Changing my rating to five stars.

v. loud alarm, v. bright display, big numbers, five stars
This is a most excellent alarm clock; or, in any event, it had what I wanted and needed. The alarm is very loud, and it lasts for five minutes. I need that, because I often sleep with earplugs. The numbers are big and bright, which is important to me, because, without my glasses, I really need big & bright. [There was an initial issue with brightness, but that was promptly resolved by the excellent customer service at Travelwey. That's another important plus for the clock. If you have a problem, they will help you. Or, in any event, they sure helped me.] I gave this clock five stars for brightness and "easy to read". I only gave it four stars for accuracy, but the imperfection is minor: The clock has, for five days now, lost about a second each day. Not a lot, but you will have to reset it every once in a long while. A final caveat: The clock is surprisingly light in weight. This makes me think that it might be flimsy, and therefore, might not have a very long lifetime. It just doesn't seem super-solid. I hope it does last for a really long time, because I really like this clock. I paid about $15. If, when you see this...assuming that anybody will ever read my review...anyhow, if the price is still 15 bucks, it's a great deal.

Love it!
This clock has a nice mix of features which make it a neat little device to have! It was also very easy to set-up and easy to use ( I did not even need to read the manual that comes together with the clock). My favourite features are: 1) It is very light, compact and portable. It can connect to the power outlet but also has a battery back up option (requires 2 AAA batteries) incase power is not available, making it perfect for travel amd for use in countries where power supply is not very stable. 2) The clock displays nice big red digits which make it very visible from a distance and quite beneficial for people with poor eyesight. 3) The clock display is dimmable. This is very useful for night time. 4) The night light option comes in very handy. I have a new baby and have to wake up several times at night to feed, and this light is just perfect with the right intensity, and can be switched on with just a tap. 5) Ofcourse the Alarm and Snooze options are also perfect. I can sleep through the alarms on my phone but this one is annoying enough to wake me up ;-). The volume of the alarm is also adjustable. 6) The clock also comes with a power adapter (two pin can be converted to 3 pin), which is very convenient for travel/use in countries that use them. I can also attest to its robustness. My 2-year old pulled on the cable when it was at a height of 2 meters and dropped it to the floor and nothing broke. Certainly the perfect clock to have when you have little children around who could potentially drop it or mishandle it in some ways. My dad says an additional radio feature would have been nice, but for me this feature was not so necessary so I do not miss it. But certainly something to consider for people specifically also looking for this function. All in all, the price was also very reasonable. I like it a lot and would definitely recommend this product and would buy it again if need-be.

Good display size, clearly visible
I have been using the clock for around a month now. I am satisfied with it so far. I was able to set it up easily. The display size is good, I can clearly see it from any angle in my room. The display brightness setting is not confined to 2 settings (high/low) - one can set to a value across a range using a slider. You just need to bear in mind that it uses 110V so you'll need to get a good quality adapter and preferably connect it to a UPS. On one occasion when the UPS died out during a power cut, the clock retained the time via its batteries as expected. Previously I was using a Sharp clock which immediately started giving problems. The Travelwey clock by contrast is functioning decently so far. Hoping it will be a long-lasting product, let us see. But Travelwey/sellers can consider ways to reduce the price (without sacrificing quality of course). If this is cheaper, more customers may buy it.
