Shave Well Deluxe Anti-Fog Shaving Mirror with Removable Adhesive Hook

I've been shaving in the shower for almost 20 years and this mirror works perfectly. Over a decade or so ago I purchased a shower tek mirror that circulated water around the back of the mirror to keep it from fogging (same basic principle to reduce fogging for temperature differences as this Shave Well) except it was flawed by the fact that the plastic arm (tubing) that holds the Shower Tek and circulates the water eventually failed after just a year or so. After that I realized I could just keep using the mirror but had to use RainX or I used toothpaste or other soap and the warm shower water to keep it fog free long enough to get a shave. Since the Shower Tek tubing arm broke years ago, I've been holding the mirror in one hand while shaving with the other. I've noticed over the years that shaving in the shower after washing my face with a good facial soap did not require shaving cream if the water was warm enough and I had a good razor. I don't rinse the facial soap off, I simply shave it off. So shaving while holding the mirror literally only takes 60 - 90 seconds. Fast forward 10+ years and my Shower Tek fell on the hard tile floor in the shower one too many times and a few weeks ago it cracked and shattered leaving glass shards on the floor of the shower while I was trying to shave. In my search to find a replacement mirror that wouldn't break the bank, would stay fog free for at least a few minutes, and would not shatter into pieces if I dropped it (water and soap = slippery in shower) I was fortunate enough to find this Shave Well Fog-Free mirror. Deluxe Shave Well Fog-free Shower Mirror - 33% Larger Than the Original Shave Well Mirror I see several 1 and 2 star reviews and I just can't wrap my head around those reviews. I am an experienced shower shaver for two decades. I have finally found the perfect shower mirror. It's small enough to hold in one hand while shaving (hanging or positioning any mirror in the shower doesn't give me enough light anywhere) which is perfect since you can move the mirror easily to see what needs to be shaved. Holding it also allows you to easily rinse the front and back to equalize the temperature to keep it fog free during your shave, and also allows a quick rinse in the shower (if necessary) when you rinse the razor. The last thing I do in the shower is shave so that my skin and the mirror have had time to warm up to get a good shave. I've found that the Shave Well mirror stays fog free for much longer than I need it. I have even attached several photos so you can see that my shower door is fogged but the mirror is not. That is after shaving and rinsing off and opening the shower door to get my phone to take the pictures. Anyone that says this mirror fogs up, either has it in the wrong place, did not prep it with toothpaste or facial soap, or hold it under warm water (front and back) long enough (I do it for about 30 seconds, 15 on each side). This is science people and it just plain works. You should also know that I accidently knocked the mirror off it's hook a couple days ago and it crashed to the floor. I'm glad it did not shatter, but it did land right on the bottom left corner and it did chip a tiny piece of the material (I seems to be some sort of plastic or lexan with a mirror coating). The mirror survived the fall with grace and while I have a small chip in the corner, it still stays fog free and I still get a great view of when I'm shaving in the shower. I'll be buying some of these for holiday gifts for my friends that have never experienced shower shaving and all of the benefits that go along with it. If you're at all curious or on the fence, I say take the plunge, you'll be glad you did.

I've owned one of these for 2.5 years. I've used both the regular and the deluxe size of this mirror. The deluxe size is definitely nicer in terms of seeing my whole big face in there, but for just normal face shaving, the regular (smaller) one works fine. I own the normal one, and use it daily. I've bought deluxe ones for my father and my brother, and use them when I visit (self serving gifts for the win!). If I were to recommend one, I'd definitely recommend the deluxe, but I still just own and use the regular. Really, the mirror is great. It's pretty simple.. A piece of acrylic, with the mirror surface on the back side of the acrylic (which makes it sensitive to scratching.. see below). Not much to it. If you have a drafty shower, it will fog up significantly faster.. Also, I use a cheap suction cup + plastic hook that I picked up at Target, rather than the included hook (which uses some double-sided foam tape). Mostly because I was going to be traveling with the thing and moving it around. I've dropped the mirror in a tile shower from 5+ feet DOZENS of times, and it's still in one piece. It makes a heck of a noise, but it has never broken, chipped, etc. It's acrylic, it's pretty tough. The only thing to note with the mirror, is that it can scratch if you don't treat it carefully. If you push it around on hard surfaces, it will totally scratch. It's nothing to really be surpised about, but just be aware, if you happen to throw it lazily into a travel bag, etc. Since the back (reflective mirror material) side isn't protected, you could wind up with scratches in the mirror image. Mine got a few scratches from me treating it like it was indestructible, so I now treat it much nicer. Just saying. The simplicity and the "fogless" feature has the drawback of the unprotected surfaces, so just be careful with it. If you put it in your shower, and never move it, it will not scratch. You literally need to be putting it on hard surfaces, etc, or where it can rub against hard stuff. I move mine around between showers, traveling, etc, so it has seen more mileage than most, I'm sure. Again, I've owned one for 2.5 years, and in that time, it picked up 2 scratches in the actual mirror material (shows up at thin black lines when looking in the mirror), and a few scratches on the front. Yes, it will collect water droplets, when you rinse it / warm it up. If you are so inclined, you could wax the surface with car wax, or something..? No idea how that would hold up in the long run.. I surely didn't do that! For me, if there are way too many water droplets, I put it into the shower stream again, and try for a less obvious pattern. I really don't notice the droplets after a moment, though. I also have hard water, and the mirror hasn't had any problems with water marks, and I've never needed to or attempted to clean it.. Maybe the near-daily rinse keeps it fresh.

I have had shower mirrors before, and they all work for a bit, then fog up so badly you can't use them, even after cleaning. I have had this one for about 7 months, and with regular cleaning with toothpaste as recommended, and running hot water over it before use, it has worked fine. Sometimes in the winter, I will need to rinse it under hot water again part way through my shave to get rid of the fog, but that's OK. The one concern that I have is that after a few months, it has developed a black area within the reflective area, near one edge, about 2 cm long and 2-4 mm wide. It seems almost as if the reflective coating has worn off or eroded off, or water got inside and removed the coating. The backing material seems intact, and there does not appear to be any separation berween the backing and the clear plastic. The mirror has never been dropped. At this point, it is small and doesn't interfere with the use of the mirror, but if it spreads, it could be a problem. Overall, I like the mirror, but minus one star because of the issue.

This mirror is perfect. It's a simple yet effective solution for a fogless mirror. It's a little on the small side but I will be traveling with it. They do sell a bigger version. I will be purchasing that one too. It's very light so I bought some extra suction cups that have no issues holding the mirror. The hook that comes with the mirror comes with a command strip and my kids like to use the mirror too. That's why I bought the suction cups

The Shave Well Travel Anti-Fog Shaving Mirror does its job when it comes to staying fog-free, and it’s definitely convenient for travel. However, the mirror itself is smaller than I expected, and the reusable suction cup isn’t very stable, especially in a humid shower environment. I often have to readjust it to keep it in place. It’s a handy option for quick use or packing in a travel bag, but for everyday shower shaving, I wish it were sturdier and a bit larger.

I'm not usually one to write customer reviews. However, I purchased my Shave Well mirror back in 2015 and I have only recently had to replace it. I have found it to be a wonderful product that has far outlasted it's expected life and would have continued to work well if I hadn't accidentally damaged it. I have used it daily keeping it in my shower at all times. The suction cup holder does come loose every few months causing the mirror to fall. Despite that, the mirror has never cracked or chipped. The only real issue I have had with it in all this time is the anti-fog. It wore off about 6 years ago. Despite that, once the fog is wiped away, the mirror is about as clear as the day I received it. This is a great product and I encourage anyone needing a shower mirror to consider it.

So after spending way too much time going to brick and mortar stores and online looking at various fog free shaving mirrors, I committed to this one. The smaller version had great reviews, but I liked the idea of it's slightly larger brother. Nothing to complain about. It is a mirror that is great for shaving in the shower with. I have no issues with fogging, but I placed it close enough to the shower so it always stays at shower temp. Just run it once under shower water on both sides like instructed and you're good to go. In the end, I didn't need a light, a radio, or some crazy mounting system. I just needed a good mirror and portability. This fits the bill. A razor hanger would be a welcome addition, but not attached to the mirror. I am quite okay without it. If you need a good shave mirror, this or it's smaller version may be what you are looking for. Save yourself stress of researching so much and cash too. No need to get wrapped up in the gimmicks of the others. For under 15 bucks shipped, this was one of those things that was money well spent. I think the smaller version is less than 10 bucks. UPDATE 02-03-2015: Since it has been over 2 years now with this mirror, I wanted to provide an update. The mirror itself is still in great shape. It's plastic, so obviously you don't want to use an abrasive to clean it. It has lived in my shower for the entire 2 years. The only issue I have found is that over time, the gray coating on the back of the mirror really wore off. I also noticed that as the coating wore off, the "fog free" aspect started to diminish as well. So it got me thinking that the rear coating plays a major role in the Fog-Free action. Keep in mind that it has been 2 years so for the most part, other than the last few months or so, the mirror has been awesome. THE SOLUTION: I happen to have spray Plasti-Dip laying around the garage...in gray as well. You can get this at Home Depot or Lowes for a few dollars if you don't. A few heavy coats applied to the back of the mirror and the mirror is Fog-Free again. In 2 more years, I will probably do it again. I just wanted to post up a way to bring your mirror back to life without having to buy a new one and throw a perfectly good one into the landfill. UPDATE 02/28/2025: I continue to purchase this shower mirror due to how simple, but more importantly how good it is as a shower mirror. It is now to where we keep one in our guest bathroom and my son has even started using it as well. The clarity is great. If after a while, it gets cloudy from water buildup or starts to fog up a little sooner than normal, just take a dab of toothpaste and rub it in then rinse. That's it! For hanging off of tile in the shower, I have resorted to a hook with a bit more suction. As long this mirror continues to be produced, I'll continue to purchase and use it. The photos I have attached don't really do it justice, but this mirror has been with me for a bit and it is still holding up well. It has fallen a few times and doesn't shatter. It may chip the edge on occasion, but that's after my son has dropped it enough times. It takes a beating and keeps on going. I am not sure if they changed the coating on the back at all since I first started buying this shaving mirror, but it has held up really well. Again, If you're looking for a really simple, but effective shaving mirror, I would buy this one and not think about it any longer. I do prefer the larger of the 2 sizes.

I was completely expecting to be sorry I bought this but it passed all the tests and I'm quite happy with it. First of all, it was super easy to hang, the hook and adhesive was all included and even a little alcohol swab was in there to make sure the surface was clean. Just stick it, hang it and you're good. It is anti-fog in that it will fog but wipe clean with just a quick swipe of your hand.

Llevo largos años afeitándome en la ducha y tirando de espejos que eventualmente se oxidan. Lo de que se empañe me daba un poco igual porque lo limpias con producto multiusos azul o lo mojas con la ducha y cualquier espejo se desempaña. En lo que sí este espejo supera a todos los que he usado durante 15 años es que: a) No se oxida porque no tiene metal. Está hecho de lo que parece ser metacrilato. b) No agranda. Te ves en escala 1:1 y aunque si te desplazas da un poco de sensación por estar hecho de plástico, no afecta al afeitado. c) El agarre es simple y adecuado; un agujero en la parte alta. Yo no uso el gancho que viene en el paquete porque pegamento y agua no son una buena combinación. En su lugar es preferible una ventosa de las que se enganchan por mecanismo (ver foto adjunta). También podría colgarse de donde pones el teléfono de ducha con una cuerda... Hay bastantes posibilidades, pero la ventosa es lo mejor puesto que el espejo apenas pesa y no se te va a caer. El único problema que le veo es que el plástico, si la cal se deja mucho tiempo sobre él, suele ser casi imposible de quitar. No se puede tener todo. El paquete incluye el espejo, que es de una sola cara, el gancho adhesivo y una toallita para limpiar la zona donde pondrás el gancho. Muy recomendado.

The mirror is almost perfect for shaving in the shower. As promised, once you warm it up under hot water, you can enjoy a fog-free mirror! It is made of some plastic-like material, that makes it super-safe to be used in the shower! And also perfect for using it while travelling... Besides all the great functionality, I also liked the fact that the package comes very complete! It also includes a hanger that you can stick to the wall for hanging the mirror... Besides, it even comes with a small alcohol wipe cloth that you can use to clean the surface before sticking the hanger!! Really sweet :-) Perhaps, for the future versions, maybe they can add a sort of coating to it, such that water droplets just slip off the mirror and if that is the case, it really becomes an ultimate shower shaving solution (but as of now, even without that, it is a great product and a joy to use!)

I bought three of the travel mirror (one for me, the other two for my sons-in-law, who need the help) because I like the ShaveWell story (from corporate bondsman to entrepreneur) which is like my own, because you employ disabled folks, and because the product as described seemed well thought out/designed. It works as advertised so I’m from the get-go a new happy customer. Thinking about why it works so well— 1. Its material strength but light weight and its size make it easy to handle, to warm to fog-free shower temp., and “unbreakable,” and 2. Its suction cup won’t unstick from shower tile under the mirror's negligible weight, and 3. The protrusion from the suction cup is cross-noduled 2/3 of the way along its length so the mirror won’t slip off it— I like it even better! Congratulations on a fine product.

Good quality. Very light and handy. Can be re-positioned easily. Durability remains to be seen. Expensive

Travel friendly and light. Excellent size. Just one minor issue are scratches after some time.
