Great to see authors updating the git code to reflect new (>16) React standards. It's on React Redux -not flux as per the title.
I am still working through this book as I write this (Oct 2017) - but I wanted to jump online and say that I am impressed how quickly the git code was updated by the authors to reflect the new standards in react 16 (that came out practically in conjunction with the release of the book). This is very impressive and helpful - no need to focus on deprecated approaches. I'm speaking specifically of the effects of the deprecation of createClass , effects on property validation and [somewhat hidden] new updater function on setState.Other than that the book offers a good practical introduction to functional programming, ES6 and React/Redux. Overall it is the most comprehensive book I have read on React, covering reduct-react and a host of advanced topics , in the latest standards of Javascript. There are a few errors through bad editing, which are annoying but I put up with them because the text in general is good. The second edition of this book will be an opportunity to be a 5 star book. I would recommend this to a friend to purchase if asked. Also for some reason the title here on Amazon uk says React and Flux, -its really about React and Redux (passing mention to flux only which is fine).

Pretty good
A good book. The accompanying GitHub pages could be better. Following along with the CSS and sass is a nightmare.Great functional teaching.

Perfect intro to react
I particularly liked the intro chapters in the books that go over es6 and functional js enhancements that come with the latest version. Goes through all products in react ecosystem to sufficient detail to work on a react project without prior react experience. Caveat is that prior js experience would be needed.
