My two-year-old was born with a head full of hair. She hates getting water in her eyes and would cry each time we told her it was time to wash her hair. We tried so many things to make it easier for her — she won't leave the baby rain visors on, she won't let us cover her eyes with a washcloth, and she is scared of our handheld shower head. We had to resort to my husband cradling her in his arm while I rinsed her hair with a cup while she usually cried.I spent time researching ideas and came across the Shampoo Buddy, and I'm so impressed with it so far. I read so many of the reviews and looked at photos. Another mom showed how she sets it up with a towel on the counter, a small towel rolled up for additional neck and upper shoulder support, and another small towel rolled under the knees (thank you to her!). I mimicked that setup for my daughter, and we're having a much more positive experience now with hair washing. She actually asks to get her hair washed now!The Shampoo Buddy has some suction cups at the base that are pretty sticky and press down tabs/locks to further secure it. It's very easy to use and seems pretty sturdy. It feels very secure even without the tab/locks pressed down, because I have a bit of a difficult time getting the suction cups off when I'm done using it. The water drains easily back into the sink to avoid a mess. The neck support cushion is also removable so you can reposition it as needed.The only area I feel could use improvement is maybe the neck area or the width of the bowl (I'm not super sure which), because I struggle a little bit to access the area at the base of the head to rinse it. I also wonder if it will be big enough as she grows. However, I recall it feeling hard to rinse the underside of the hair while using the professional salon sinks while I was a student in cosmetology school 10 lifetimes ago.Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and my husband even commented on how good of an idea the Shampoo Buddy was. I love when other mom's use their education and creativity to create things that make some parts of daily life feel so much better — thanks Tiffany! If you're a mom on the fence about whether or not to buy the Shampoo Buddy, please just do yourself a favor and get it.

We struggled washing our daughters hair in the sink - water everywhere, she didn't like holding her head up, towels drenched, etc. I'd been looking for a better solution and then came across this. It had pretty good reviews and was recommended by a friend so I finally broke down and bought one. Now I'm not sure why I waited so long. This thing works GREAT! We have granite countertops and the unit grips to the counter amazingly. So much so that it's really hard to get it off when I'm done using it. LOL The grips themselves have a bit of stickiness to them which I'm not sure if it's supposed to or not but it does help keep the basin from moving around on the counter so I'm not complaining. I saved the two little cellophane pieces that go on each of the grips to protect them when I put the basin back in the box after use. The ONLY downside to this product is that the rubber neck piece isn't attached and depending on how much your child moves around while you're washing their hair, might periodically come off. I've used this three times now to wash my daughters hair and it's never happened to her while I've used it but it is a possibility. I use it with "ramp" under my daughter's shoulders. She's a very big 4 year old and she fits in it with no issues. Because her hair is so thick and long, it does take a good 20 minutes to wash and condition her hair (I also detangle and brush it) and she starts complaining at the end that her neck is hurting.... though, she has fallen asleep twice while I used the product, so I'm not sure if it really hurts her or she just wants to get up and play again. I suspect as she gets older, I'll have to switch the thing around so the ramp faces the sink basin because her shoulders will no longer fit using it the other way. I know I'll be using this thing as long as I possibly can because it's been a life saver giving me two hands again to wash my child's hair.

This item was great at first but definitely not built to last. The suction cups no longer work and started slipping. It was good while it lasted

I absolutely love the Shampoo Buddy! After struggling for years to find an easy and affordable way to wash my son's hair, I finally found the perfect solution. I’ve tried so many different products, but this was by far the easiest, best, and most affordable experience for both of us. No crying, whining, or complaining he was so relaxed he almost fell asleep! Normally, he can’t wait for hair washing to be over, and I struggle to get his scalp clean. But this time, I was able to do a deep clean with no issues.I did have to lay a blanket underneath him because our countertop is hard granite. You'll need a kitchen countertop that’s long enough for them to lay on, or you could possibly use the bathtub instead. I even set up a tripod so he could watch his favorite YouTube show while I washed his hair. As my son says, "easy peasy lemon squeezy!" I love it, and so does he. Highly recommend!

My curly haired daughter broke her arm and wore a cast so we needed a way to wash her hair without risk of wetting the cast. I set this up on the kitchen counter with the basin part over in the sink. I stacked beach towels on the counter to cushion and lift her closer to the height of the head rest. The head rest is hard and uncomfortable so I folded a wash cloth to add cushion to it.The basin washes off easily and drains well into the sink. The suction cups are seriously sticky and can be hard to pull off the counter. We have granite tile counter tops and the suction cups were fine for us because we didn’t have to place them on any grout lines.I’ve been washing both of my curly haired daughters’ hair in the sink and it’s been much less of a fight then in the tub. They can watch a tablet and aren’t feeling bored or cold standing in the shower or bathtub.

To be very honest here, I bought this Shampoo Buddy last year (2023) Aug 28th. I don't think I used it too often back then but now it's a total life saver. My son is 4.5 yrs old and it's so much easier for me to keep him laying on the counter, head in the Shampoo Buddy to aid to his mixed hair (Liberian/Caucasian).All you both (yourself/your kid) need is a little bit of time and a lot of patience with your kidlet. Let them watch a movie or play a game on your phone!The sturdiness of the suction cups are amazing! To keep it clean and always sticky, I always pat dry then place plastic bag on top and lock it down. Then nothing else will stick to it. Also the quality of the plastic itself is absolutely amazing! Great jobs to the creators on this product, and to the mind behind the idea... props to you !! 100/100!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️To Amy's review below, the proper way to use the Shampoo Buddy is to have it as I do, in the photos I've attached to my review. Give it a go ahead the way I did, the next time you do your kids hair in the kitchen sink. I promise you it will be so much easier!!!

I don’t leave reviews too often, but I had to for this purchase. My daughter has been crying for the past 4 years of hair washing. I tried the shampoo buddy tonight and not only was it easy but she even asked if we could wash her hair tomorrow. No water in face or ears. The suction on this thing is strong as hell. Get it.
