Suunto Yachtsman/X-Lander Synthetic Strap Kit

I have had my Suunto X-Lander for many years, and love it except for one thing, the cheesy watch band. The cheap leather band has been the only thing available, and the leather has been so thin and weak that they constantly failed where the leather attaches to the buckle, by either tearing or coming unglued. And the replacement bands are not inexpensive, at $20-30 each. This replacement band is made of what appears to be very heavy duty synthetic material reinforced with tough nylon pack cloth, all of which is glued and stitched together with heavy thread. It looks like Suunto has finally built a band that is on a par with their watch. Only time will tell, of course, but I feel much more confident in this band than those that I have had in the past.

I have a Suunto Military X-Lander and the strap holder finally broke as I saw was the case with others who have written here. I did not necessarily want another plastic band, nor did I want to pay an exorbitant price for some watch repair shop to put on a new band which was not meant for my specific watch. This replacement strap comes from Suunto and has a fabric feel. It's not like leather, more like woven nylon, but it really does the trick and blends nicely with my watch. The key to replacing the band is to have a pen knife or, in my case, a small screwdriver that I use to tighten the screws on my glasses. It's the right tool to push the pins inward so that they will allow the band to be put correctly in the case.

I own a few Suuntos. This strap is much, much, much better than the crap Suunto puts on their watches. But...this thing smells musty/nasty after you get it wet a few times (especially if you wear it in the ocean). Even with the stink it is still much, much, much better than Suunto's garbage straps. I would buy this again and would recommend it to a friend.

The synthetic Yachtsman strap is excellent and if only it would fit the CORE. The strap is very well made, the contrast stitching is just right, the texture was surprisingly subtle yet pronounced giving the strap a high-quality look. It's comfortable, light, doesn't have that strap 'smell' like velcro, and comes with the curved pins. It's a keeper and I bet the small retainer strap doesn't break!

Works much better than the OEM band (rubber military version) and was delivered promptly by the seller. FYI, this band also fits the Suunto Spartan.

I have had my Suunto watch since 1999 and have replaced the band twice before with bands identical to the orginal leather band. This synthetic band is identical in styling to the leather band and is much easier to clean and is also quite comfortable.

I purchased this watch strap to replace a worn out X-Lander strap, it works great. Actually, better than the original as it is synthetic rather than leather one that came on mine. I am hoping that it last longer and let's me get up and down Denali again!

Hella stiff, will take some time to work in, but I'm sure it will last longer than the lame-O band that was originally on it

cinturino in tessuto nero più strato gomma inferiore per Suunto X-Landerho ordinato questo nuovo cinturino perchè quello fornito all'acquisto in pelle benchè bello a vedersi si è rivelato molto fragile.Mi auguro che il nuovo acquisto si riveli migliore del precedente.Il vecchio si è tagliato dove è in contatto con la fibbia nonostante la mia cura a non bagnarlo.Assolutamente mai usato per bagni in acqua (mare o piscina) solo durante il lavaggio mani un minimo di acqua da considerarsi normale visto che si tratta di un orologio tecnico e water-proof.
