Delicious base to almost anything
As a personal chef I make a lot of unique and fun dishes for my clients. I discovered this gem 💎 on a “discontinued item” at my local grocer.I make a lot of Asian dishes so when I used this I was gobsmacked 💃🏼 at how amazingly simple it is to use and makes the dishes go from delicious to OMG!Of course, my grocer didn’t have it anymore so I bought it from amazon-4 pack.If you don’t know how to use it, start with a base of neutral oil in a skillet on medium high heat the add a tablespoon of this paste and stir for just 3 minutes. Then you can add stock for soup or stew, noodles and meat (or tofu) and veggies 🌶 for stir fry or mix it into your fried rice. Very good quality and adds umami like crazy!

The ultimate Asian Sauce Base
I use this in making homemade Chow Fun, Chow Mein, Won Ton / noodle Soups, and stir Fry meat/veg dishes. I follow the recipe on jar which includes two tablespoons of this, mixed with oyster sauce, sesame oil, pepper, sea salt and dash of sugar, and it makes the best tasting Chinese Restaurant style dishes, even better tasting than when I get these dishes made at my favorite Chinese restaurant. This is a must have staple to have in the kitchen at all time. That mixture works great as soup stock broth as well for my noodle soups. I also make my noodles fresh with my pasta maker which takes my homemade chow mein dishes to the next level.

Just be careful when opening
Great product, but the packing wasn’t. One jar broke and the sauce went all over. Amazon did the right thing, but be careful opening!

Don't have to make Black Bean paste anymore...
I like to steam my catch with black bean paste. In the old days you would have to get fermented black beans and mash them with garlic and shoyu to make a paste to smear over the filets. With the sauce you simply open a jar and smear it on and place the filets in the steamer. Tastes just as good a making your own and easier than trying to find fermented black beans outside of San Francisco.

Packaging problem
Product is a good, standard product. The packaging was inadequate. Amazon resolved the issue.

Jars leaked
Product arrived with jars still sealed by the plastic over wrap but they all leaked and the vacuum dome on the lid was raised on all of them.
