It's works! I take a small zip lock and coat a 1/8 cup with bacon grease. Let it sit about 10 minutes. The add another cup shake bag and put it out. Some I put in snack bags they drag it back to the nest or some I put in bait boxes and a throw a bunch on the side walk as shown in the video. In the morning I sweep up the left over Ratx and put it in a bait box. The really big hole bait boxes. They go in and ear inside of them too. Do not use peanut butter!!! Rats know to avoid it unless they are really young ones. The older ones know we use it on traps because it's used so much. Peanut butter only works for me with bits of broken bacon in it. They also love mini marshmallows. So I poked several into marshmallows and the gobbled them up. Same with hot dogs. I cut the hot dogs into slices like coins and poked Ratz through them. I have Ratx cams so I watch them eat it. Proof they eat it is in this video. This has the bacon grease lightly on it. Their sense of smell is very good. I will say this you will never get rid of rats if you don't clean up their food sources such as holes in garbage cans, dirty yards, dog poop on ground etc. I also trap them with snap traps. I switch the types I use because rats are smart! I have the wood Snap traps. I have the plastic snap traps and I have the black tunnel type snap traps. My neighbor 300 feet away has a terrible infestation and they travel to my house. I do not want these in my house so I tighten up my fence openings so they can squeeze through. I clean my side walks and stairs with dawn dish soap and water them vinegar and water to erase their highways. I put down garden lime over night on grass and sidewalks to see their paths aka rat highways. Then the next day I hose it down with water and let it sit. Because the garden lime actually breaks down the bacteria in their scent trails. If you don't find their scent trails and get rid of them. You will never get rid of rats because even if you kill all of the rats you currently have other rats will find the scent trails and follow them! It's maddening!!! The 2nd photo shows a rat that died and is decomposing. I see several of them dead like this. I bought this because I don't want to kill other animals and it works!

I wrote a review on their discs, so I’d like to post some parts of that here as well since the same info applies. I apologize for the all capital letter title. Just know that this stuff doesn’t work. Well, that isn’t 100% accurate since I don’t know what would happen to the mice and rats if they ate this. Why? Because THE WON’T EAT IT! I bought the discs back in March, and I even went so far as to buy their little bait stations too. I placed the station right next to a hole where mice were entering my home. Of course they simply avoided it. I set up a night vision capable camera and watched them walk around it rather than go inside and eat the bait. So, I placed a disc outside of the station and still in front of the hole. They literally crawled over it and just went along their merry way. So then I took some of these pellets. I put them in a tray with some bird seed, uncooked rice (because that’s what they got into the last time in my house - a brand new bag of rice), and even some cheese. Guess what they ate? EVERYTHING BUT THESE PELLETS. I had so hope that maybe some of the powder from the pellets did something to those little critters, but the mice problem persisted. So I did what any partially sane person (since I was losing my sanity because of these mice) would do at this point: I crushed some up and sprinkled it all over various foods. One bowl of rice. Later a bowl of dry cereal. I tried so many things, and then I even put out cheese with the dust sprinkled on it. Guess what? These little critters now avoided all the foods they were eating inside my home! WOW! It seems to me that this stuff doesn’t attract them at all, but instead, it makes them not want to eat stuff. So what about outside? Nope, not a single bite. I placed bait stations outside too. I even got some other brand ones with bigger openings so the rats coming down from the hillside would fit. They crawled on top of the stations rather than go inside. And when I put bait on top of the station, they didn’t even pay them any attention. Mice and Rats are simply not attracted to this bait at all, so how could it possibly work if they won’t eat it? I have no clue what to do to entice them to eat these darn things. I was so hopeful that this would reduce their numbers, but I was deeply disappointed. What a waste of my hard earned money. If I was still within the return window, I would pack all of this useless stuff back up in the bags to get a refund. Yes, I have all the discs still because the mice and rats won’t even sniff this stuff let alone eat it. And I have the bag of pellets about half full. Save your money and buy something else that’s more effective. I don’t know how other people got the mice and rats to eat this stuff, but I’ve got some crazy smart rodents that are just built different.

They gobbled it up! One user was totally right- grind it into powder and use bacon grease. I had some slick cardboard from an allergy pill box and cut it in half to make 2 trays. I have a bacon grease jar and smeared a thin layer like glue on the bottom. I then ground 3 tablespoons (per tray) of the pellets into an almost powder and put them on top of the smear. I then took some more bacon grease and melted it in the microwave and drizzled it on top. They LOVED it!!!! Gobble gobble gobble Are they dead? Don’t know that yet but the food went entirely within 2-3 days on the first try.

Works... if they eat it. I have to constantly add more "pour overs" (melted pb, lard, bacon grease etc), which in this heat causes them to mold quickly... still trying to find another option that's safe for use around cats/chickens/wildlife (like this claims) until then, I'll keep this in a bait box in my barns and hope for the best.

I'm not sure that is working! 2nd bag I've purchased and the mice/rats have consumed it all buuuuuuuuut I don't think it working at all... I will comeback to make an update..

this WORKED + i didnt have to worry about OWLS or other animals eating poisoned rat! spread lightly around areas saw them - twice +++++ they are GONE. G.O.N.E. No toxins to poison other animals.....but NO RATS soooo happy

This rat bait works but you have to crush it and mix it with some food over about a week or two. The rats won’t eat the pellets. Some of the pellets are harder to crush. So I put pellets in a plastic bag and use a hammer or meat tenderizer so crush pellets. Then I mix the crushed pellets with peanut butter and leave mixture out on a paper plate. I do this everyday over two weeks or until I see that the mixture is not being eaten anymore. The best part is that when they die there is no smell! Thank you, it’s been so nice having a good night sleep with no more noise from the rodents. The only suggestion I have for company is that it’d be convenient if the bait came in a powder form so you don’t have to crush it. Good luck!

So about a year ago, developer started tearing up the woods behind us to build houses. That pushed the coyotes farther in and wiped out the feral cat population, leaving nothing to control the rat population which exploded. The result was that the whole neighborhood has been overrun off and on for the last year. Now as far as this product is concerned, it kills quickly and is safe for pets and does exactly as they say it will do on the label. The problem is that IT ONLY WORKS IF THEY EAT IT!!! . I followed all the directions, put it out exactly as specified read all the reviews and even attempted some of the hacks that I read like mixing with birdseed, etc. With the exception of 2 very young rats, nothing, and I do mean nothing, convinced these rats to eat this bait even when all other available, food sources were removed and they were starving so badly that they were eating the plastics in my pantry. That being said, a while after I put it out I did start to smell dead rat in two different places and true to the claims on the label, it did not last long and I barely smelled them. I have dogs and cats and birds that I did not want to be poisoned so this was a great alternative. It was clean, easy to use, and pretty much stays exactly like it is when you put it out. Six months later I’m still finding the packets I threw out and they’re all still just fine even though they’ve been on the ground under the house under the sinks, etc.. and I do believe it kills very quickly because I put it near a nest where I had seen some young ones and within just a few, days I was smelling it. To give you some perspective, the infestation that my neighbors and I had been experiencing was severe. This product I bought twice,; once in the store and once online and both times it cost me $30 for a total of $60 for the two bags that eventually snared only two rats. In comparison., I caught 23 on glue traps, my Bully/Pitt mix caught and killed half a dozen, and I finally exterminated the last half dozen or so with regular poison. So I only gave one star because of the numbers.

This product really does work, and I'm able to keep the rat population under control with the peace of mind knowing that my cats, dogs, poultry, livestock and wildlife are all safe from harmful poisons. Be methodical, consistent and patient (it takes 3 to 5 days for rats to die), but it really is effective. I locate the rat runs, and simply pour the Rat X into the exit/entrance holes where I can monitor whether it's being taken. Once taken, I continue to top it up. Apparently it takes 10 to 15 pellets to kill an adult rat, and less for juveniles. Adult rats will also take the pellets to feed their young in the nest. It works by coating the rats stomach thereby interfering with the nerve impulses that go to the brain that tells the rat to drink. So, in effect the rat kills itself by not drinking, and becomes so dehydrated that it dies. Unfortunately in the UK only small, 227g bags are available to buy, and they're not cheap! However there is a 3lb (remember it's an American product, so they're still using imperial measures) bag available, that's more cost effective, even with the additional postage, if you're willing to wait for it to arrive from America. In my opinion, due to the horrific effect that other rat and mouse poisons have on our animals and wildlife, this should now be the only product licensed for use in controlling rodent vermin, in the uk. Rat X will not harm cats, dogs, or wildlife, such as owls, even if they catch and eat an affected mouse or rat because it's just dehydrated. Top marks to the Americans for developing such a safe and natural product.

The rats avoided the pellets like the plague. They would eat everything else but not those expansive pellets. Waste of money.
